  1. Here's something in the ballpark! This load uses small pistol primer case, a large pistol primer and case would probably be better. Bullet: Blue Bullets 230 gr. RNFP (Polymer Coated/.452) Powder: VihtaVuori N310 3.8 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Pistol Case: Mixed Blazer & Federal OAL: 1.250 Avg. Vel.: 721.87 fps PF: 166 Recoil Spring: 16 lbs.
  2. Trying to come up with a load similar to the Sig Sauer Elite Performance 125 gr. +P V-Crown JHP factory load - more work needed but I'm on the right track. Plan to use the 125-grain version next at 1.250 with 6.8 grains of CFE. This is lower than the Sierra starting charge and should work in short throated guns. Bullet: Sierra Sig Sauer V-Crown 124 gr. JHP Powder: Hodgdon CFE Pistol 5.95 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super Comp (New) OAL: 1.210 (.995 with Stoney Point) Average Velocity: 1202 fps ES: 42 SD: 11 PF: 149 Recoil Spring: Dawson tool-less guide rod, 12 lb. Recoil Spring and Buffer Pad. Comments: Lee U-Die and Lee Expander Die used.
  3. Off topic (.38 Super STI Trubor) but I just tried some AA#7 with 115 gr. HAPs and that stuff is awesome! No fireballs, shoots flat, accurate, and clean shooting too! Heck, I better include my load data or someone will call me out (I haven't had a chance to check the velocity). Bullet: Hornady 115 gr. HAP Powder: Accurate #7 10.5 grs. Primer: Federal 205 Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super (Lee Undersized Die) OAL: 1.240 (.977 with Stoney Point) Recoil Spring: 9 lbs. with Wilson Shok Buff
  4. My old S&W Model 19 Combat Magnum.
  5. It uses the roll pin hole from the original adjustable sight.
  6. My son was needing a Trijicon RMR for one of his Glocks and I was wanting to quit fiddling with batteries, so I mounted a Trijicon Dual Illuminated RMR on my XDm 5.25. I messed up the mounting screws for the RMR on the baseplate. I forgot that the Springer Precision screws are different from those supplied with the RMR. Kind of a happy accident, the new plate uses a roll pin for more support which I like. I never had problems with the original though... (+3500 rounds)
  7. Here's another one using Accurate #7. Bullet: Precision Delta 147 gr. JHP V2 Powder: Accurate #7 8.4 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super +P (Lee Undersized Die) LOAL: 1.260 Avg. Vel.: 1177 fps ES: 16 SD: 6 PF: 173 Recoil Spring: 8 lbs. with Wilson Shok Buff
  8. Here's a load I like to use in my Stacatto XL. Bullet: X-Treme 115 gr. RN (.355) Powder: Winchester 231 4.4 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Winchester OAL: 1.150 Avg. Vel.: 1109 fps ES: 21 fps SD: 7 PF: 127 Recoil Spring: Wilson Combat 8 lb.
  9. RS Competition is pretty good in my Colt Diamondback too! Bullet: Missouri Bullet Company 105 gr. TCFP (.358 with Hi-Tek coating) Powder: Ramshot Competition 3.3 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Federal OAL: 1.450 Avg. Vel.: 857 fps ES: 22 SD: 8
  10. Here are some more chronograph results from my Staccato XL. Bullet: X-Treme 115 gr. RN (.355) Powder: Ramshot Competition 3.6 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Federal 2 Dot OAL: 1.150 Avg. Vel.: 1012 fps ES: 18 SD: 6 PF: 116 Recoil Spring: Wilson Combat 8 lb. Bullet: Blue Bullet 125 gr. RN (.3555) Powder: Ramshot Competition 3.3 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Blazer OAL: 1.130 Avg. Vel.: 957 fps ES: 6 SD: 2 PF: 119 Recoil Spring: Factory 8 lb.
  11. Here's two... Bullet: Hornady 200 gr. C/T Match Powder: Winchester WST 4.5 grs. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Federal LOAL: 1.245 Recoil Spring: 16 lbs. (no buffer pad) Bullet: H&G #68 200 gr. SWC (Oregon Trail) Powder: Winchester WST 4.5 grs. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Winchester LOAL: 1.245 Velocity: 825.94 fps ES: 14.06 SD: 5.09 PF: 165 Recoil Spring: 16 lbs. (no buffer pad)
  12. I was testing out the Precision Delta 147 grain JHP V2 in my Staccato XL so I gave them a try in my Wilson Combat Accu Comp. Bullet: Precision Delta 147 grain JHP V2 (.355) Powder: VihtaVuori N-105 7.6 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super +P (Lee Undersized Die) LOAL: 1.260 Avg. Vel.: 1157 fps ES: 40 fps SD: 12 PF: 170 Recoil Spring: 8 lbs. with Wilson Shok Buff The obligatory gun porn...
  13. Oops! Forgot the Precision Delta load! Bullet: Precision Delta 147 gr. JHP V2 (.355) Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 3.3 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Federal OAL: 1.145 Avg. Vel.: 869 fps ES: 24 SD: 8 PF: 127 Recoil Spring: Wilson Combat 8 lb.
  14. Checked the velocity for my test load today (ten feet from the muzzle and 68 degrees). Gun: Staccato XL 5.4-inch bbl. Bullet: Blue Bullet 147 gr. RN (.3555) Powder: Ramshot Competition 3.0 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Case: Federal OAL: 1.140 Avg. Vel.: 854 fps ES: 13 SD: 4 PF: 125 Recoil Spring: Wilson Combat 8 lb. Will probably settle on 3.1 grains for my final load.
  15. I found out I can seat my bullets out a little longer than I thought! I tried this load out and it was still very soft shooting and just as accurate as my jacketed load with Titegroup. Weather was too bad to do any chronograph work. Bullet: Blue Bullets 147 grain RN Powder: Ramshot Competition 3.0 grains. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Federal (2-Dot) OAL: 1.140 My jacketed practice load (primers looked a little flat, will switch to Federal brass). Bullet: Precision Delta 147 grain JHP V2 Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 3.2 grains Primer: Federal 100 Case: Winchester OAL: 1.145 A couple of twenty round groups at 10 yards with the Precision Delta load.
  16. Actually, I think the Blue Bullet 147 grain RN weighs closer to 150. If the weather permits, I will check the velocity this weekend.
  17. I know, but I'm cautious! I started at 2.5 grains with a 7 lb. recoil spring and busted out laughing! They must have lawyers writing their loading guide - or maybe that guy who writes for the Daily News. How did he describe shooting an AR-15 again? Oh, yeah! "The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick."
  18. I'm still working on a load for my Staccato XL but I'll share. Ridiculously soft shooting and fun to shoot... Hopefully I can chronograph it this weekend. Groups at 10 yards and 20 yards, just don't like shooting off the bench. Gun: Staccato XL Recoil Spring: 8 lbs. Bullet: Blue Bullet 147 grain RN Powder: Ramshot Competition 2.7 grains Primer: Federal 100 Case: Federal OAL: 1.130
  19. A bit overpowered (360 PF), but it’s still a single stack!
  20. I soak the ports in Pro-Shot Copper Bore Cleaning Solvent IV then scrape out the loosened powder fouling with a brass dental tool or Chore Boy Scrubber. I only shoot JHPs too. Major loads with Power Pistol will clean out what's left (not much!)
  21. My son liked my Taran Combat Master so much he sent in his Glock 22 for the same treatment!
  22. I haven't tried this load with 38SC brass yet but here's one I use in my STI Trubor. (Yeah, this is an old thread) Bullet: Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP Powder: VihtaVuori N-105 10.2 Primer: Winchester Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super +P LOAL: 1.248 – 12.50 (.985 - .987 with Stoney Point) Avg. Vel.: 1364.02 fps ES: 31.17 SD: 9.74 PF: 169 Recoil Spring: 8 lbs. with Dawson Aluma Buffer Pad The Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP and Precision Delta 124 gr. JHP gave similar results with the same load of SR-4756 Bullet: Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP Powder: IMR SR-4756 8.5 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super +P LOAL: 1.240 (.976 with Stoney Point) Avg. Vel.: 1346.61 fps ES: 37.90 SD: 10.81 PF: 166 Recoil Spring: 8 lbs. with Dawson Aluma Buffer Pad Bullet: Precision Delta 124 gr. JHP Powder: IMR SR-4756 8.5 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Rifle Case: Starline .38 Super +P LOAL: 1.245 (.976 with Stoney Point) Avg. Vel.: 1346.15 fps ES: 35.94 SD: 12.24 PF: 166 Recoil Spring: 8 lbs. with Dawson Aluma Buffer Pad
