NewColonial
Does anyone have issues with cord connecting the two ear plugs causing a lot of noise in your ears? The string rubs against my shirt or jacket and the resulting sounds is carried through the plugs. Other than cutting the string off, is there a way to minimize that annoyance? I've found I can't wear them for more than a few minutes without being totally annoyed by the scraping. I've thought about (but not tested) just pulling the connector string off, but wondering if the holes left by the connector will affect the effectiveness of the plugs. RecoilJunkie
what plugs do you have? Mine have a ribbon more so than a string and I've never heard anything like that. do you have filters in your plugs?
NewColonial
EAR Inc. Yes, filtered. I'm leaning to cutting, but may leave a bit to attach to ribbon or smoother cord.

MemphisMechanic
Tie a knot in the middle of the string so it rests on the back of your neck above your collar.
DagoRed
I have custom molded ones. String drove me crazy as it rubbed collar when I moved the sound transferred right into my ears. I cut leaving a couple inches. I got tired of people asking why I looked like a Martian with little antennae sticking out. I removed them completely. Been happier ever since. Jimboslice
on the rare occasion when I use my molded ear plugs I loop the cord through the back hole of my cap so if I accidentally pull both of them out they won't fall on the ground.
