hcore44
I am new to 9major shooting and reloading. What are the benefits of shooting jacketed HPs over coated bullets from a good supplier like SNS or Bayou? From what I have read and experience, the coating should be plenty durable for the pressure and velocity of 9major but I wasn't sure if there were other factors involved. Im shooting out of a carver comped glock 17 with a burris ff3 etc. Thanks for any additional info.
zombywoof
I'm shooting coated out of my 38SC. I get a little lead build up in the comp. Jacketed are a little more consistent as far as accuracy. I'll use them for larger matches. Coated work great for everything else.
Mat Price
I shoot coated out of my open guns. I do get a touch of leading in the barrel though. I clean that up with a 20 rounds of jhp...
Hi-Power Jack
Price isn't worth the leading ... I use MG JHP's - no leading - little more money
CZ85Combat
If you have popple holes, use JHP's

AzShooter
Quote I use coated and am very happy. I don't notice any smoke. Groups are on par with my jacketed loads so why pay the extra?
jcc7x7
I've shot a lot of both No doubt Mg are my favorite, PD's next Bayou's for coated, there is some stuff in the comp after about 3000, as said above, shoot some jacketed and it seems to blow out. Sure enjoy shooting more per dollar with the coated. Just ordered a case of Bayou's for my 9 major, saved what memory serves, over a 100 bucks vs MG. Double check my pricing figures, again going by memory, but both work fine Good fortune with the open quest
