Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Does anyone have pictures of how you set up hard cases like Pelican or similar to transport your pistols to matches? Im looking to put something together that will fit in my Harley's saddle bag vs just putting everything in my big midway competition bag in my car. Im looking at cases about 15x10in size for pistol and 6 mags. Thanks for any inspiration.
  2. I am looking to order more powder and saw the no haz mat from Grafs for NOBEL powders. Are any of the Nobel powders similar to WAC or HS6 for use in a 9 major with a compensator? Thanks for any input.
  3. thats what i was hoping to hear. thanks
  4. Ive been playing around with a .357 rossi lever action that I havent touched in a while. Can coated bullets be driven at the upper end 357 rifle speeds? Im showing 2000fps on 125 HPs currently. I looking at both 158gr and 125gr just to play around with. Ive had SNS and Bayou going 1500fps in my 9mm major with no issues
  5. I could not get my attempts with 160 to shoot well at all. I used 3.0 TG with SNS 160s in glocks with both standard and lone wolf barrels along with a VP9. None would shoot them well. I had a few instances of tumbling too.
  6. I live in NY and must accept a 10rd limit on mags. I have been shooting an open glock for a little while now and love it. I understand that the platform has it limits and know I will want to branch out. I could go the 2011 platform and just use 10rd mags but the thought of paying $100ish per mag and not really be able to use them as designed kills me. My thought was to build up an open gun on a single stack 9mm 1911. From what I have been reading, 10rd mags are available and much less expensive. This would let me shoot to my capacity and allow me to buy plenty of extra mags. Thoughts? Moving out of this state is not an option for me for a long time due to my job and family. Thanks for any ideas.
  7. I purchased two "home built" FALs a few years ago and want to get them professionally rebuilt and properly timed. Does anyone know who might do this type of work? It seems like there were a ton of builders in the early 2000s but not much now that I can find. I tried to email Arizona Response Systems but never heard back. Any other leads? Thanks
  8. I have had no problems with bayou over the last year. I have used 6,000 plus and no complaints. I just ordered from sns a few days before this "sale" but I usually try to switch up my bulk ammo orders to try different sizes, profiles etc from as many vendors that support the sport as possible.
  9. We don't get a whole lot of big matches in my neck of the woods. Im just going to go with SNS after realizing I was spending a lot of time trying to save $25. Thanks for all the input so far.
  10. Im looking to pick up a case of 135 coated bullets. Ive used bayou and SNS in the past with good results but I am open to whom ever might have a good deal going. Any leads or info?
  11. I shoot bayou coated 135s on top of 3.1 gr of TG. No smoke I also use TG with 125s from Bayou at a charge of 4grs and no smoke from that load either. I have used SNS and Bayou coated and get no more smoke with either than JHPs at least to my eyes.
  12. Down with the trigger finger. I have found that I am fast with the paddle than I am with a standard button type. Also, my hand does not shift as much doing it that way. I have not seen any other methods to drop the mag.
  13. What is the best place to pick up sets of replacement springs, spring cups, extractors etc? I would love to just be able to order all my spares from one place. Anything that wears. Thanks for any leads
  14. What load are you using? Right now, Im at 6.9 WAC with a 125 Bayou loaded to 1.13 because that was as long as I could go before the barrel work. I could not load the MGs long enough to make major and not blow out primers.
  15. I found it in a search. Sounds like 1.160 max with most running 1.150-1.155 for major like Im shooting. I'll start at 1.150 with my MG 124s and see If I can go longer and still feed in the mag reliably.
