SJ
The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. “Make it evil,” he’d been told. “Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it.” --Douglas Adams

BritinUSA
I just finished watching the BBC DVD of the original series, it looks so dated now, and the BBC effects department were down to their usual low standards. Marvin is as hysterical as I remember him. It should be interesting to see how it translates to the big screen. If it's a big enough hit then I guess they may make all 6 books of the trilogy into movies.

kdj
While he was alive, Adams changed THHGTTG every time he moved to a new medium (and I started in the original radio days which is by far the best version!) Now that he's no longer with us, I wonder if the natural forces of Hollywood will continue that tradition accidentally? Kevin
