CoThG
I have a 5" M&P Pro 9mm and I'm looking to get another 5" M&P to have as a spare. I can get a M&P 9L with my first responder discount and would like to know what differences, other than the sights, there are between it and the M&P Pro 5". JohnRodriguez
the slide cuts in the front are different. 9L is straight and the pro is slanted. if you get a bladetech holster then the pro will fit the 9l, but the 9L will need some trimming
Butterpuc
the 9L doesn't have the "pro series" internals.... but i change those immediately anyway. I own both and would not spend the extra money on a Pro.
StealthyBlagga
the slide cuts in the front are different. 9L is straight and the pro is slanted. if you get a bladetech holster then the pro will fit the 9l, but the 9L will need some trimming Other way around - Pro is flat at the muzzle, 9L has an angled cut. A distinction without a difference. The sights are slightly different too, and some internals (but as mentioned, you'll want to change those anyway). Biggest difference: 9Pro is for professionals, 9L is for lesser beings Edited September 20, 2015 by StealthyBlagga
wgj3
Get whichever costs you less up front. Use the difference on the upgrades you will end up doing to either model.
e5young
Just get the standard 9l and switch out the trigger and other small parts. The pro from what i have been TOLD is only a bit better than stock.
Sarge
I thought the 9L was discontinued a few years ago. Many just bought the L and built on it
shooterDrew
I thought the 9L was discontinued a few years ago. Many just bought the L and built on it I think it was discontinued but now is back. As said above if the 9L is cheaper just go with that, an apex sear and new sights wld be my first addition to either model. crobber
I personally would go with the 9L as well. The angled cut at the muzzle just looks cleaner to me, so much so that I had my pro cut the same way.
