Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. A lot of shooters at the local club have Carlos do their work
  2. Or better yet the "I'm just here to shoot" mixed with "brass guy". One match I saw a guy just hang out in the shade all day, no taping or brassing, just playing on his phone. He would wait for the brassers to drop it off in a tray on a table and simply walk up and dump all the contents in his bucket. It was a local match, so there are no squads, people just kind of go to whatever bay they feel like. I imagine had there been assigned squads, nobody would have put up with that for very long...
  3. I have found that I don't necessarily count shots, but I do know when my plan has gone to crap and making adjustments as best I can. One stage on my last match started with a star, my plan included one reload, but that was based on only having two extra shots for the star. I took 3 or so (who knows, wasn't counting), reloaded on the way to my next array and still hit my reload where I had planned it anyways. I carry 4 mags on me in limited just for reasons like that. Unplanned reloads either due to poor shooting or malfunctions, with the poor shooting being the more likely of the two...
  4. I was there Sunday too, it was indeed hot. I wish my reloads looked that smooth at the beginning of the day lol
  5. Limited D Class (I suck real bad at classifiers, or just in general) Shot it 1,2,3,4,5,6 If I had it to do over again, I would probably save 3,4 for last.... 51pts 8.12 secs 6.2808 HF Calculator says 60%
  6. Used one at a local match for the first time this weekend. I definitely do not have a perfect draw, but the gun released every time with no issue. There is a little bit of side to side play, but when locked the gun is secure and not going anywhere. It is my first race type holster and had a few issues, but that was me getting used to it. I had the lock pushed forward, and when I went to unlock, I pushed back too far and into lock again. Fortunately, this was during load and make ready, so no problem with it on the clock. The lock itself seems like it would be a pain to engage/disengage when you mess with it, but once it is on your belt, it is more natural than you would think...
  7. A guy that shoots at the local club shoots with either hand, but it is more out of necessity that anything. He is in a wheelchair, and as such chooses to move as little as possible. This means that he needs to take shots at certain targets with his weak hand as opposed to re-holstering and changing his position. It seems he shoots equally well with both hands.
  8. Maybe my eyes are messing with me, but could you flip it around to put the ledge further forward, or does it have a weird shape?
  9. I have used a comp-tac with the tall dawson sights with the only issue being due to the extended mag release. I am using a LF Arms release and the mag would drop on my draw. Probably just the way I draw the pistol, but 3 minutes with an exacto knife and pliers solved the problem....
  10. Happened to me this weekend. I always check and noticed that the chamber was empty. Got it loaded up and proceeded to have feed issues on that stage until I changed the mag. The round not chambering should have set off an alarm in my head to use a different mag, but it was the last stage of the day and my brain just didn't make that connection.
  11. I personally would go with the 9L as well. The angled cut at the muzzle just looks cleaner to me, so much so that I had my pro cut the same way.
  12. Haha, the long slide is all I wanted out of the deal.
  13. Hi all having a weird issue with a used M&P Pro 4.25 I just bought. The guy I bought it from had two slides for it, the 4 inch and a 5 inch. When I examined the gun and dry fired it, it worked fine but it has the 5 inch slide. I got it home and put the shorter slide on it, and it failed to function. I had another short slide as well as another 5 inch slide and they all function as expected with one oddity. My 5inch 40 slide works fine but has issue going into battery on new frame, I suspect the recoil spring. Works fine on my other two frames. 5 inch 9 slide works on all frames. 4 inch 9 slide works on all frames. Only hiccup is to teak down gun on new frame, I need to push up on slide release. 4 inch pro slide works on all frames but the new one. If I pull the trigger without cocking the striker, there is a little rearward motion on the slide that is not there with the others. If I put a little rearward pressure on the muzzle, it will function, otherwise, nothing. I compared the two 4 inch strikers and no noticeable difference. The only difference between the four slides is the bum one does not have an apex striker block. I also noticed quite a bit of motion in the trigger assembly when pushing up on the slide lock with the slide off. The trigger return spring would stretch and trigger bar would move. Fresh return spring fixed those issues, but still did not remedy the issue of the striker not releasing. Any ideas? Would like to remedy the issue myself rather than send it in.
  14. Are you guys using these in standard mags, or are you running extensions on them? Just curious if the extension has any affect on the OAL of the rounds you are using
