Doug H.
The thing about angle iron and pipes is that they still can spin but they present a shoot-able target even after spinning unlike a plate which presents a very small target when bladed. The only thing I don't like about those targets is that you can't shoot them with a pistol and so it's a shotgun only target which reduces the ways a stage can be shot. sschultz
A pro shooter that posts on this forum has one of the pipe targets he shot with a slug. Made that pipe fly a long ways.
T Bacus
I don't know the thickness but a local club uses pipe for pistol and shotgun targets without any problems. I was even shooting some of them at the last match with my 300BLK (subsonic) and it didn't leave a mark on them.
ctay
I would expect it would offer unpredictable splatter and ricochet patterns with pistol rounds. Probably not a great idea. Shotgun sounds like a good plan.
mike_pinto
There is some new verbiage in the soon to be release USPSA MG Rules about targets authorized to shoot. I think it will allow for a much broader range of options for MD's. It is an agenda item for our meeting tomorrow night. Stay tuned to the USPSA website for more..
