LancerKagato
Just got my new TS for USPSA. I really hate the cheap plastic guide rod that is in it and would like to know if someone has experience with the DPM guide rod. Or if its not effective and I should just get a stainless steel GR. CZinZA
There's actually nothing wrong with the plastic guide rod. It is completely functional and effective at doing its job. I wouldn't bother changing something that works well Sent by Jedi mind control
kneelingatlas
I use plastic GRs in all my CZs, saves weight
JimmyZip
Yeah, that cheap plastic is just about what the doctor ordered unless you want to add even more muzzle weight to your TS.
JayDee
+1 for stock plastic guide rod. The SS FLGR from CZ Custom work well, jut make it a little more muzzle heavy. No experience with DPMs.
magpulled
Imo the plastic guide rod feels softer during recoil. I've got a SS in my ts now but will go back to plastic when I get my gun back from mink.
TallGuy
Interesting. The plastic guide rod in my 40 TS was chewed up in less than 250 rounds. A CZ USA gunsmith told me it was designed to be a consumable. I didn't like that. Went to steel. No issues if I didn't use a buffer. If I used a buffer, it would short stroke and jam. For grins I bought the DPM. Probably 10k+ rounds, no issues. The steel is now in my spare parts kit. That said, if my plastic GR hadn't got chewed up so fast, I'd still be using it. Did you see any noticeable difference in the DPM vs SS?
Garmil
I used the czc ss and browning high power springs. Slide moved much smoother.
CZinZA
Strange. After 15 000 rounds my plastic guide rod is as clean and unmarked as the day i got it.I wonder why different guns behave differently Sent by Jedi mind control
