JMike
I have the Brazo's custom fiber-optic front sight. I'm getting ready to install the same site on another STI pistol. I really like them. Edited October 24, 2014 by JMike

JMike
It is the one on their website that is shown for $40. Red fiber optic
Arlin
Krazykj03: I have tried both and prefer the larger dot size. I'm able to acquire the dot much faster. Just my two cents. Arlin
al503
Microdot for me.
Postal Bob
It all depends on how well you see the dot. My Brazos gun came with the micro dot front sight. But I found the dot too small to pick up quickly. So instead of running the fiber halfway, and seeing it through the tiny opening in the back, I run the fiber all the way through and it's like the mini dot ones now. The one you mention has an extremely narrow post, .07" wide. Better off with what I have http://www.1911store.com/lightningrodmicrodotstisv.aspx with the normal .1" width. And then see if you like using it like the micro dot, or running it all the way through like I do for a slightly bigger dot.
troupe
Buy a Dawson sight, better machining and they are more helpful.
blaster113
Brazos Microdot for me. The smaller FO rod of the Microdot doesn't seem to bloom as much as other FO front sights in bright light. Have them on my 5" guns.
v1911
Brazos Microdot for me. The smaller FO rod of the Microdot doesn't seem to bloom as much as other FO front sights in bright light. Have them on my 5" guns.+1And the micro dot helps me with the distant shots.
nomore606
I use a micro dot on a 5.4. I get a better sight picture on farther and small targets because the front sight doesn't cover it completely
OperationHitFactor
Brazos Manny Dot for me, because I would go too fast causing slop in my accuracy. If you are accurate and slower on speed try the bigger lightening rod to speed up. I like both for different reasons, but currently I'm focusing on Alphas so the Manny Dot gives me a better sight picture for tight technical and distance shots. andy27al
I have the Brazos sight on my HP Edge. I like it. I have never had a reason to change to anything else.
ivan
Buy a Dawson sight, better machining and they are more helpful. Dawson is helpful when the front sight breaks... unfortunately: they have a habit of breaking. -ivan-
