Never had to fit a front sight before. Some have been pretty tight though.

If you do get some malfunctions don't be to concerned about it. It will break in and if not ZEV will fix it.

How much did it cost to coat the barrel? I was thinking about doing it with one of mine.

What do you modify on the slide stop? Disable the slide from locking open on an empty magazine?

i shave 3 to 5 thous out of the slide stop wings for a tighter lock up.

Looks cool! Do you shoot those pistols? They look factory new. My muzzles get all scratched and worn from holster wear. Looks awesome on a glock.....not so much on a zev slide or my sti....

Which I just realized doesn't make very much sense, since I said the 17 is a production gun. I haven't bought a legal holster yet, so I haven't shot it in a match at this point. Once I get a bladetech or something it will be my production gun. My girlfriend has shot it in limited minor though.

Building a Open Glock 22 to use for Steel Challenge and USPSA at my local club. Waiting on the C-More to show up and need to work on a holster. Since the picture, added a silver Dawson magwell....

I just got back from the range and I shot back to back my ZEV 35 and the new sti marauder 40. I really didn't see much accuracy difference if at all. I shot 10 rounds at 25 yards and headbox shots at 10 yards and got about the same group size with both. All A's at 25 yards with both. But to be fair the glock has a 2lb trigger while the sti has a 4lb.

I love the glock stippled grip better. You can really lock down on it and it feels more secure in my hands. Feels like an extension of my body almost. The sti feels kinda awkward probably because I'm so used to the glocks.

The biggest difference was in recoil. The ZEV slide is extremely quick and violent. The sights seem to settle very quickly and ready for follow ups. The sti is soft and slow in comparison. The sights seem to bounce around a little more before settling.

Which do I prefer? I don't know! It's a tough call. However it is worth mentioning that the glock is heavily modified and the sti is almost stock. I think it will take a lot more shooting to figure out which I want to use for limited...

What do you have to do to a g17 in order to shoot major loads? Do you need to switch out the stock barrel?

Well, I'm going to have to switch out the barrel yes, because it has to be threaded for the comp. Going to need a different recoil rod and spring (I hear 13 for major?) to work with the compensator as well.
