leath4m
Note to self: don't EVER deprime and then tumble 38 super cases!!
Guest
Why is that a problem? I do it quite often as part of my normal processing for 38 super and haven't had any issues.
Braxton1
Fifty bucks says that he had to spend a couple of hours with a dental pick meticulously removing little chunks of corn cob from each primer pocket and flash hole....

Steve RA
Use the fine grade walnut from Harbor Freight and you won't have any trouble with primer flash holes or HP bullets !!!
Guest
Ok, you guys are probably right, I wasn't thinking about media plugging the pocket and flash hole instead I was thinking maybe the OP had a problem more specific to the 38 super. Yeah, use 20/40 grit and it flows like water out of the case and doesn't plug the flash hole. The fine harbor freight works great if you want walnut, and if you want corn cob this Econoline blast media works very good: http://www.zoro.com/i/G2165387/?category=6090 Free shipping on this right now, too. Runnin2live
I use to have plugging problems, but if you drop the brass back in the tumbler for about 5 minutes after you seperate from the media, no plug stays after that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Indeed this is a good price. Have you done business with zoro before? Are they good to go? I have bought from drillspot and they were awesome. I might order a bag just because it's such a good deal. noylj
1) use 20/40 corn. It has never filled a primer pocket on me 2) run the cases through a depriming die and it will remove the media

Thanks for the link and recommendation I only wish you were closer. I gave half the bag I ordered to a buddy that reloads, I'll never use that much that fast since I only use it for finish tumbling. Thanks for the link Bamboo, just ordered a bag! Had problems with their online ordering, kept getting internal failures but after a couple of calls to them I finally placed the order the "old fashioned way", over the phone. BeerBaron
I don't ever deprime and then tumble anything. brass comes off the range and goes straight into the tumbler. it gets deprimed on the progressive on station one and then continues it's way around to be reloaded. since all small primer cartridges have the same size (approximately) primer pockets it's an issue with all cases if you have media big enough to stick in there. if wet tumbling it's worth depriming first as you get really clean primer pockets. in a dry tumbler it doesn't do much so I just tumble them with the spent primers in them. easy fixed.
