Rich219
I'm ordering some Bayou Bullets 200gr RN bullets tomorrow and need a load for them. I want a load that will put me in major power factor. What are the most efficient powders for this round/load?
Steve RA
Clays (work up to Major PF), 231/HP38, 4756, E3, unique and probably a lot more. Mostly, in these days, depends on what you have or can get.
deerassassin22
Ramshot Comp is a good powder or it along with HP-38 as mentioned above.
Rich219
I've used E3 for shotgun, but never heard of it being used for pistol. The Alliant website doesn't show pistol data for it. What guides list data for it?
ttolliver
The recent winner for me was N320 with an SNS 200gr coated. WST (which was my replacement for Clays when it ran out and I've found it to be almost identical in performance) would have been a serious contender if I hadn't wanted to save my dwindling supply for my 45acp competition load. So I'd second the Clays recommendation as long as you're careful as you sneak up on the load.

Rich219
Is 200gr the better choice over the 180gr for USPSA?
Steve RA
More popular, you don't have to drive it as fast to make Major PF.

disxbxjun
I had safely worked up a major load with WST and 200gr BBI bullets. I loaded them long though to 1.24 OAL. Nothing wrong with the load but I settled with my 180gr load just because personal preference.
SNSCaster2
A good place to start is about 4.0 grains of N320 if you can find any. I like to load my 200RN to an OAL of 1.200" Ramshot Competition is pretty similar to 320 and also a good choice.
beltjones
A good place to start is about 4.0 grains of N320 if you can find any. I like to load my 200RN to an OAL of 1.200" Ramshot Competition is pretty similar to 320 and also a good choice. I've had similar results with 200 gr Black Bullets with the new coating. 4.1 gr N320 at 1.200" gets me right at 850 fps out of an AET barrel. I think it would be right at 4.0 for the same fps with a standard barrel.
jcc7x7
4.2 WST, 200 gr Bayou, 1.190 171 PF low SD forget what it was I've tested it over the chrono in 0 degrees 16 degrees and 45-48 degrees and it runs the same FPS avg within a FPS every time. YEs I leave the ammo in the temp. for several hours before chrono'ing it!
jnr88
Similar to Neil. 4.3@1.85 was 173 all year long.
sdrr72
For a G35 with KKM barrel, I loaded cast lead 200g with 3.8g N320 at 1.135. Made 169 on average. Should be close to BB's. Edited March 21, 2014 by sdrr72
b18prl
I tried 4.0 of WST with 200 gr Bayou loaded long at 1.215" and made 169xxx also tried N320 at 4.0 gr but didn't make PF also 4.5gr of WSF it too didn't make PF. So I'm gonna stick with WST.
UFO
4.4 of IMR SR7625 easily makes major power factor out of my Glock 35, and shoots very accurately, however, I did have to change to a 15lb guide spring to get it to cycle reliably 4.2 also made major, but didn't give me enough cushion to be comfortable with... mjmagee67
Tag so I can find it. I got some 200gr BB's and 16 lbs of N320, got some good places to start.
Mike21STI
I'm currently using 4.5 gr of WSF loaded to 1.180 and it makes major at 172 pf out of my kkm barrel (5" 2011). I have some WST but I haven't tried it yet.
grouptherapy
I loaded longshot with plated 200 berrys. 5.1-5.2@1.125 was accurate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
