We found a bug in 1.6 Steel Challenge scoring. We had one stage called Speed Option. If you hit the "Option" plate 2 seconds is supposed to be Subrtacted from your score. 1.6 Adds 2 seconds like it was a penalty. Bug report submitted.

Ken,

This is more of a thought than critism so please understand

Since Steel challenge has 8 stages, and ONLY 8 stages. why didn't we just have those 8 stages loaded in like classifiers were for USPSA?

Add stage: select from Smoke and hope etc..

etc..

thoughts?

Jim, others requested to allow other non standard stages and support custom penalties and bonuses. Also there are matches like Ruger Rimfire and Russian Steel.

But we'll add a stage picker for those standard stages.

I was also wondering if this would be a way of supporting our Tuesday Night Steel match. We don't (ok rarely) use stop plates and we certainly have far more than 5 targets on a stage most of the time, but it is steel. We have bonus and penalties that would need to be configurable as to value.

This also leads to the discussion of the shooter record. A steel match "classification" is not tied to their USPSA classification and should be kept separate. I suppose the same would be true of any other discipline such as cowboy, 3-gun or whatever. Can the internal masterfile of PS keep track of these varied classifications, some of which are externally maintained?

Eventually our Steel Challenge numbers will go away and we'll use USPSA member numbers but the classifications will still be separate. When you setup the match in PS you specify what type of match it is. This allows you to have Zack Jones A46578 for your USPSA match and Zack Jones 6039 for your Steel Challenge match.

A stage library, of general nature, is intended. But as others have covered, many clubs run un-pure Steel matches.

Member numbers/class and other choices - it remembers everything by match type. Eventually (as in a couple months), master info will be stored on the cloud for clubs and shooters.

Okay, 1.6.1 is out, listing two items addressed. One is an EZWS import issue. (Not sure about the details.) The other is "added more 'jitterbug' ".

So.... what's "jitterbug"?

It's a phone with large digits and a large display. See the video linked to above. I think he means they've embigified the font on more of the screens.
