Sgtsvi
This is a slick gun. I have installed a +6 NC tube and I'm waiting on the HiViz tricomp sight and Briley chokes to complete the package. The loading port is really opened up and shells go in smooth. Now if the temp will dip below 103 degrees I will go shoot it. Edited August 2, 2013 by Sgtsvi

fireman489
is that the 1301 ? I had a LGS that could get me one but I passed....
Sgtsvi
Yes it's a 24" 1301. I have a Salient M2 already and wanted a backup shotgun that didn't need a lot of work to make ready. I'm also a huge Beretta shotgun fan and love to see that Beretta has finally decided to jump into the sport and listen to 3 gun shooters on the design. JPeel
Hey Dave, I'm headed to New Mexico in an hour. It's cooler there so let me take the gun to Raton with me and try it out for you
L3324temp
Very nice. I just swiched to a Beretta from an 1100 this year. It took two matches to get used to but I now love it. Edited August 2, 2013 by L3324temp

caz41
Comparing it to your Salient, what are your thoughts?
Sgtsvi
The weight is about the same as the Benelli as far as I can tell. I will know more after I run a couple of hundred rounds through the gun but so far it seems like a good 3 gun shotgun. I have done some weak hand and dropping dueces with the Beretta and they rounds go in as slick as my M2. The Salient has a better trigger but that can be fixed on the Beretta as well so I'm impressed so far. It is a lot lighter than the Mossberg and SLP for sure. ziebart
Do you mind posting some pictures of how they opened up the load port? I have an A400 I was thinking about modding and from my understanding it is the same receiver.
Sgtsvi
Here are some close ups of the action and features. I added the tricomp sight and removed the mid bead because it was distracting to me and I only use one on clay guns to ensure proper alignment and setup for the targets. Lead-Head
Wow. It looks like somebody might have finally made a 3-gun SG that is ready out of the box. I may need one of these.
fireman489
oohhhhh booyyyy..... Thanks for the pics Dave ! Sgtsvi
Yes. Just turn the factory sight of with pliers. The HiViz sight comes with the right screw. I used blue lock title on it for a little added security.

Nickoli
Very nice, can't wait to hear a range report on it. I was thinking about buying one of these for my first 3-gun shotgun but ended up with a JM last weekend. If it runs good I might have to pick one up for my girlfriend and try to get her to shoot matches with me, she loves anything Beretta.

fireman489
Will be waiting for a range report... Yes Dave, I believe its your "duty" to go out & brave the Texas heat today in order to give us a fair & unbiased report
sdhunterman
It appears like this is the case but I thought I would ask. Does this have the high rib, similar to Benelli's M2? If it is too hot down there, I would be more than willing to test it out up here.
Sgtsvi
High rib like Benelli. Beretta makes barrels for Benelli so it looks close to the same sight picture when you shoulder the gun.
Therealkoop
That is a pretty sweet loading port. Not sold on the shell carrier.
ziebart
Thanks for putting up the pictures of the action. Not sure if I will be bold enough to take a dremal to mine myself.
