Flexmoney
Hand jobs cost more than a piece of tape. They both sound "sticky". (and, on that note...I am out of here.)

shred
[ignorance mode on]Are there DA pistols that have grip safties? Well, there's the XD... And the early (Lemon-Squeezer?) J-frames, which are as close to the archetype of "DA" as you're likely to get.
bassn1
The Grip Safety will have to be reconnected if it is currently disconnected for 2005 - USPSA rules on all firearms. This is a safety feature the gun must have for the new 2005 ruling when the 15th Edition of the USPSA rule book comes out. Also, for those with 80 Series firearms everything must be in 80 - series condition all parts in the firearm that operates this safety mechanism. It's not in any of the new rules I read, and I believe I read them all. Amazingly enough there is no hue-and-cry from the international shooters that have been using (some say "saddled with") the new rules for a year now. vincent
Please see my thread on this topic where Vince Pinto addresses this very question. Per Vince the new rules still allow the grip safety to be pinned on a 1911, but you can read it for yourself. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16495

diehli
[ignorance mode on]Are there DA pistols that have grip safties? The LDA comes to mind. Since it's an internal modification to increase reliability, I'd assume it'd be okay.
Vince Pinto
Hi guys, For IPSC Production Division, it is most certainly not permitted to pin a grip safety. If you need to know about USPSA Production Division, I suggest you contact John Amidon.
