doulos
Are all 3 caliber barrels (9mm,.40 and .357 sig) interchangeable with the same gun? Or is this just possible with the .40 and .357 sig?
blaster113
The 9mm has a smaller breechface than the .40 and .357 so not interchangeable.
Sig Shooter
The 9mm has a smaller breechface than the .40 and .357 so not interchangeable. What he said. you can swap the 40 & .357 but not the 9mm.
Joe L
You can't use a SIG 9mm barrel in a 40 slide. You can use a Bar-Sto 9mm conversion barrel with the wider breech face in the 40 slide. I have thousands of rounds through a 9mm Bar-Sto barrel fitted to a SIG 40 cal slide and running on what was originally purchased as a Classic 22 frame. I put an LPA adjustable rear sight on the slide so that I could quickly set up the sight for whatever barrel I have installed. Truth is, I shoot mostly 9mm in this slide/frame now. JGus
You can, however, use a COMPLETE UPPER in .40s&w, .357sig, and 9mm on the P226 frame of any of those 3 calibers. The P226 uses the ssme frame for all 3 calibers. Sig sells complete uppers called their "X-Change" kits.

Ausman
Sure wish you could run all 3 calibers in one frame and slide.. that would be totally awesome. I would be even more of a Sig fan if that were the case!!

I would be even more of a Sig fan if that were the case!! You can. I do. 40 slide + 40 barrel + 357 Sig barrel + 9mm Bar-Sto conversion barrel. No problem. LPA adjustable sight, 2 different recoil springs 2 different magazines, 3 calibers.
Ausman
So I can buy the X-Change kit for the P226 in .357Sig and use it on my 9mm P226 without any other modifications?
Joe L
Yes. If you don't like the way the casings eject, you can change the ejector. I use the same ejector for all three rounds, however, without problems. Joe
Joe L
I shot my 9mm Conversion barrelled 40 cal slide P226 gun this morning, along with an all stainless P226 9mm and a P226 Tacops 9mm. All were flawless and accurate. Joe

pranavdc
Not to barge in on the OP but I am also trying to find a multi caliber setup in 226. My question is I have 7 mecgar 9 mm 18 round mags, will they fit in the classic .22 sig p226?
