  1. decided on this https://www.amazon.com/Frankford-Arsenal-Platinum-Precision-Reloading/dp/B00EE6GHU8 about half the price as the Dillon. Well see. I wanted something that could use both batteries and 110v Comes with a case. Set it up just initially and was weighing some of my arrows. Seems ok. My last electronic scale was a RCBS Micro Pro and it was good for quite awhile. Much longer than I expected. I might pick up one of those cheaper ones also. Thanks for everyones input.
  2. I really appreciate everyones input. And the cheaper scales on Amazon are a consideration. I might look at amazon ratings different than some people. I usually discount the 5 star ratings till I scan the low reviews first. . I look at the lowest 1 star ratings first. If after reading a few and there seems to be a reoccurring issue it is usually evident. I still dont discount it yet either. If the percentage of 1 and 2 star reviews is more than 10% combined I keep looking at others. I do understand that you cant have great expectations from electronic scales at the price point Im looking at.
  3. Ive heard mixed reviews on this item . I dont want to spend more than what this goes for. I have specific uses for a electronic scale. I just want something halfway decent without breaking the bank. Opinions?
  4. I use 9-10 gains Unique also with cast bullets for a light load. I actually prefer AA9 and AA11FS over H110 for my magnum loads. I also like 2400. But its pretty hard to find most of the time.
  5. I have one. I love it. Im too old to be bending over picking up brass.

    Sig 226

    Thanks guys
  7. thanks Ive been using them for pistol cartridges on a Rockchucker for a while now. But was wondering about rifle cartridges. I just ordered a Redding Big Boss 2. I like the primer disposal method on it.

    Sig 226

Are all 3 caliber barrels (9mm,.40 and .357 sig) interchangeable with the same gun? Or is this just possible with the .40 and .357 sig?
  9. Anybody using Hornady lock n load quick change die bushings for rifle rounds?. Are you experiencing more bullet run out with the bushings, than reloading without them?
  10. Looking to possibly get a non 1911 45acp. Living in the communist republic of NY it can not be high capacity. Was thinking about the Sig 220 or the Hk 45. I havent handled the HK 45 yet but have handled a USP. Id like to hear comments about these guns. I allready have a 1911. My concerns are -----I have heard about spotty quality and reliabilty on newer Sigs. Cant say I have seen it on my Sig XO which seems high quality to me for that price range. I usually reload everything and shoot a lot of lead bullets from Dardas or Penn. Is this a no go with the HK? thanks
  11. Justinsaneok I think Kevin Sanders hit it on the head. Having a full shell plate makes a difference in consistent OAL on my 550.
  12. I have a Dillon 550 but still use my single stage RCBS sometimes. I load .44 mag on it because i shoot it alot less than .45 acp and .38 special. I also use it for load development sometimes. When i just want to run 10 or 15 rounds. I have the Hornady Lock N load bushings set up for it so its pretty quick to change out dies. I love those LNL bushings. Id use your single stage until you get the scratch to get the progressive you desire. Dont settle for less than what you want. If you want a 650 wait and use what you have until then. Once you have a progressive I'll wager you will be shooting MORE !! Since I set up my 550 I shoot twice as much as i used to.
  13. Im going to try those tips because i have been having the same issue. Being such a novice with this machine I wasnt sure if i was short stroking the handle or if it was the machine.
  14. Anybody out there using this powder? I shot some handloads the other day and was surprised how sharp the recoil was seeing that they were well below the Accurate Arms starting data. I was using a 230 grain Berry's with a standard cci primer and a Starline case. I used the data for a 230 grain Lead bullet. I cant imagine using their max loading data. I didnt chrono it because I hadnt recieved a chrono I just bought yet. I was just surprised because the recoil seemed a bit more than Magtech factory hardball. the gun cycled fine and there were no high pressure signs on the cases.
  15. Has anybody else noticed the huge difference in loading data for Unique in .45 acp? Most of the Lyman 49th edition starting loads for cast bullets exceed the Alliant reloading guide Max loads. Anyone here use Unique?
  16. these were all once fired magtech brass i actually loaded more than a few without a full shell plate and I measured the rest and the variance is up to .005. Why does it matter if the shell plate is full or not?
  17. In my first 100 rounds of .45 Acp loaded on my new 550 I have noticed some of my completed rounds had a variation in OAL. I checked the die and it was tight. Some were about .003 longer. Is this from me short stroking it?
