  1. Not having any luck anywhere.. so I must be a little late to the party. Kinda scary since I am down to my last 2k primers!

    Sig 226

So I can buy the X-Change kit for the P226 in .357Sig and use it on my 9mm P226 without any other modifications?
  3. Bruce put in what appears to be the extractor that he is showing on the Sig forum this past May. I knew it was not just another version of X5 stock extractor. In fact I was convinced it was from a P220ST and apparently I may be right. Bottom line this seriously solves the problem. I have shot around 15 matches and countless practices since he performed the surgery and I have had not ONE failure to eject! If his new one is an improvement on what he did to my X5.. all I can say is that it will be REALLY awesome!
  4. Thanks for the note. My sister has been looking for 18rd mags for her SP01 for quite sometime. Great news her looking has stopped as I received 6 in the mail for her last week!!

    CZ TS DURABILITY?

My wife has been shooting a CTS all year in USPSA and it has been faultless. She feels it is the best Limited pistol that she has ever used.
  6. I think I have tried just about every type and brand of 9mm bullet manufactured. Plated.. lead.. and jacketed. For me it is hands down MG 124g JHP.. No feed issues... sizing is absolutely consistent and they are just darn accurate if I do my job!
  7. Mmmm.. your thread gave my wife some ideas for her CZ Limited pistol!

    Sig owner

Welcome to the Sig side of the Brian Enos forum. Count me in as a Sig-Fan. I shoot an X5 L1 in USPSA Limited.. somebody always says something positive about it at matches.. even just sitting in my holster. They are great looking pistols.. all of them!

    Sig 226

Sure wish you could run all 3 calibers in one frame and slide.. that would be totally awesome. I would be even more of a Sig fan if that were the case!!

    Lube for X5

I have used Shooter's Choice on my X5 L1 for the last year and on my All Around for 2 years prior to that and I cannot see any wear. In addition winter or summer I have not had ANY problems... none. That is shooting one heck of a lot of rounds in USPSA / IPSC.
  11. Absolutely love my magwell on my X5 L1.. Thanks Staudacher.. sure makes for much quicker reloads!

    147GR or 124GR

For my wife's CTS I load MG 124g JHP.. 4.4 N320 at an OAL of 1.142. Accuracy is great.. PF right at 130 and the recoil is very light. Never a problem with tumbling or anything. They are just nice and consistent. The barrel has been throated the get the OAL out a ways.
  13. JWeber.. yes that is grip tape on the sides of my grips. In fact I have quite a bit strategically placed in different spots. I LOVE a real sticky grip! In fact the first time I used the X5 L1 with the new tape on it.. I got some minor amounts of epidermis removed on my fingers. But now the pistol is like it is littered with suction cups.
  14. That is my plan.. install the standard 226 release. Rest assured I will do it before I shoot my next match in January!
  15. Discovered on my X5 L1 that when you start from a tabletop.. just the weight of the pistol will release the mag. I have been thinking all along it was me pushing down on the X5 when I picked it up. Tried rolling it up and the mag still fell out. Time to shorten it a tad!

    CZ TS Limited equip.

I will add that the DAA Racemaster holster is great. With two inserts and the little bit of modification from the video you can shoot either a SP01 or TS.

    Which CZ to get

We have an Australian Shadow that is awesome. Also my wife shoots a CZ Custom CTS which is out of this world and that is the response from everyone who has shoot it.
  18. My wife shoots a CTS (custom tactical sport) and she and I cannot say enough great things about the pistol. We also have an Australian Shadow and it is incredible as well!
  19. Jay.. if you click on the link "Hogue Store X5 SAO Grips" that posted with the text.. it will take you directly to SAO X-5 Extreme grips. The link was copied over the quote you posted. I tried the link in that and it still works. Let me know if you strike out again.. but should not be a problem.
  20. Levi333... you ROCK! Shooting minor and doing as well as you do.. is something for me to aspire to. Even if I do shoot a Sig in Limited minor ;-)
  21. JGus.. Here is a link to the SAO Extreme grips for the Sig X-5. Lots of choices.. not inexpensive.. just goes with the territory. I can certainly vouch for the fit and it is perfect. Also if the checkering is not enough.. you can send the grips back to Hogue and they will add more checkering where you need it. I have attached some photos for you. In addition the magwell is Staudacher's custom piece. I have a different finish on mine.. the ones he sells are a little more neutral. Hogue Store X5 SAO Grips
  22. I did not have to do anything to the Hogue Extreme grips. I just purchased the ones made for the X-5 SAO and they fit perfectly. A heck of a lot more grip than the OEM plastic versions... even more than the Nils too.

    Bruce Gray work

I am with Staudacher. Bruce Gray and GGI has done an excellent job on anything of mine that he has touched. Since I am Sig orientated.. that is a few pistols. On top of that he is an outstanding individual who stands behind what he does.
  24. You are not the only one shooting an X-5. I compete at least twice a month in USPSA with an X-5 L1 in 9mm. Obviously shooting minor.. but I am ok with that since I am loading for 3 in the family at about 1,500 a week and minor keeps the cost down. I know I will probably not win Limited.. however I am still doing pretty darn good. I use Roger Sherman's basepads which give me 23 + 1 on an X-5 magazine. Also I have one of Mr. Woodward's magwells.. which by the way are fantastic and give you a complete unit.. versus the abbreviated one on the stock gun. Took of the Nils and put them in a bag and installed Hogue Extreme grips as I much prefer the extra grip over wood. Besides the Nils are tooo nice use up. Maybe someday I will just put the X-5 in a case after it is retired and at that time the Nils will look great! Oh yeah.. a fair amount of grip tape in strategic areas in order to help hang onto the heavy beast! I started out with an All-Around.. but the desire to shoot SAO forced the change to an L1. I have about 20k rounds thru both X-5's.. with the majority thru the L1. The only round that I shoot is competition based.. no defense based loads. Montana Gold 124g JHP.. N320 and nickel brass (nickel for ease of extraction) and loaded fairly long as the barrel will support the length. If it needed it.. I would have throated it in the beginning to get the length. The pistol is wicked accurate if I do my job. At this point I could not be happier. Now that I have said that.. the trigger will fall off.. the extractor issue raise it's ugly head and the firing pin will fall out!
  25. I use a High Noon Slide Guard for my P226 and it is an excellent holster. Highly recommend High Noon for quality and service.
