ErikW
Are there any reasons not to use Winchester brass with the headstamp "WIN NT .40 S&W" ?
Guest Larry Cazes
Erik, I seem to recall that something was amiss with the primer pockets or flash holes......Do the primers look crimped? Have you decapped any yet to have a look?
bberkley
I would chuck any winclean (WIN NT marked brass) brass in the trash.
Shepard
I've used them. The only problem I've found is during reloading on a 650. You have to finesse the primer into the pocket. Unless you have a swaging tool or a 1050 its probably more trouble than its worth.
chp5
Extremely tight primer pockets - I'd trash it.
sargenv
I wasn't sure that the WIN NT was like this, I do know that the FC NT brass did have smaller primer pockets.. It always seemed to screw up my 650. I had to go in and hand sort the several hundred from my 40's. I think I ended up with several hundred in the mix and I sometimes run into one that gunks up the works. Vince
eric nielsen
They could be swaged but it's not worth the time and effort. The police here shoot NT & I could pick up thousands for free, but I don't. The fact that the headstamp reminds me of Windows NT is a further aggrevation... diehli
I saw "WIN NT .40 S&W" and the first thought that crossed my mind was "does that mean I see 'The Blue Screen of Death' when I have a jam?"
Larry White
I've run across 3 or 4 of these in my last batch of once fired and they all caused a train wreck, they suck. I would toss em. Larry
wide45
Have not seen any Win NT yet. Been using mix of regular Fed and FedNT as match brass. The 1050 irons out the crimp.
ZEROFIXER
Are there any reasons not to use Winchester brass with the headstamp "WIN NT .40 S&W" ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> HI I USE THE NT BRASS ALL THE TIME IN MY .45ACP AND NOW IN .40sw I CAN GET AS MUCH AS I WANT FROM OUR LOCAL GUN SHOP, THE .45ACP HAS SMALL PRIMER POCKETS, SO I PUT IN SMALL PISTOL PRIMERS AND IT WORKS FINE. THE .40sw IS A LITTLE TIGHT SO SWEDGE THE PRIMER POCKETS AND THEY WORK FINE, HECK I USE ALL THE BRASS I CAN FIND!! THEY CALL THIS NEW AMMO LEAD FREE/NON TOXIC, MOSTLY JUST NT, SENSE THERE IS NO LEAD ,NO TOXIC
