Robert King
Plenty of 10's still available for G17 and G22. Is it just a tighter spring? I know the body is the same length and I have never seen any kind of spacer installed in them. Can you just add a full capacity spring or is there some secret I am missing? Matt1911
A lot of them have a piece running down the length on the inside to prevent the bullets from staggering.
Matt1911
Google a pic of beretta 92fs mags for hi cap and 10 rounders and you can see on the sides that there's a rib to prevent the stagger that isn't on the 15 round mags. Robert King
If it is just a rib, it seems you could file it down without much heartache. I just see a lo of WTB adds for G17 and G22 mags. This seems like n easy optiion.
EkuJustice
they have material inside restricting the capacity thats not removeable
atbarr
People, there still legal. You can damn bet, the suppliers will restock. Just relax. Didn't you see the results of the election?
Robert King
While they will restock if no ban occurs, several sites I have visited are saying the back order will not fill until April for Glock mags. If you need mags now and if the process is fairly simple, why bother waiting. If it really is just extra material that basically turns it into a single stack, it won't be that hard to remove. It's all about having options.
atbarr
Up until Sandy Hook, http://www.natchezss.com/index.cfm had Glock mags for $19.99. Now there sold out. They should re stock before 'our' Congress makes them illegal. Like I said, didn't people see this coming?
EkuJustice
Its not simply taking a dremel to the inside of your mag.

NicVerAZ
Two options exist for the Mec Gar mags made for the CZ and also used in my K100: a rib running on each side to prevent the cartridges from staggering as well as a much smaller double stack with a fake plastic bottom. Glockman1000
The mag bodies are internally ribbed in the molding process, then the metal insert is put in place. The magazine spring kind of resembles that of a single stack magazine spring and function as such.
Seth Long
Yea it would be a major undertaking. I picked up 3 357 sig mags that are 10 rounders i use for dryfrie (got them dirt cheap). I tore them apart to see how hard making them the read deal would be. From what i can tell, they are just molded with 3x the plastic on the sides, then the metal liner is inserted to make them single stack. If it can be done, it would be a major undertaking. Matt1911
I still have a 10 round AR mag from 2002 that has a welded bottom plate on it and an extra long follower to prevent extra rounds.
ima45dv8
This has the potential to be a useful and informative thread. Any more political remarks and it will simply go away without warning. We've tried to be lenient because of heightened emotions, but we're sincerely tired of cleaning up all the political fallout that has landed here recently. Please, knock it off. Thank you. walangkatapat
Are the new ten round glock mags any easier to load than the ones during the AWB?
Seth Long
My 357 sig 10 rounders suck to load, they have been loaded with 40 for a while now and one still is crazy tight on the 10th round.
walangkatapat
If thats a newer mag sounds like they haven't changed. I broke one of those Glock loaders trying to load a 10.
Seth Long
If thats a newer mag sounds like they haven't changed. I broke one of those Glock loaders trying to load a 10. They arn't more then 2 or 3 years old. I tried my uplula on them, and was afraid i was going to break the ramp off that pushes the bullet down, so i quit. JimM
Are the new ten round glock mags any easier to load than the ones during the AWB? Good question...the ones I have from the AWB have always been a pain in the neck to load. Jim
EkuJustice
They are all very tight as they want to eliminate any chance of an 11th round being added
Seth Long
They are all very tight as they want to eliminate any chance of an 11th round being added I never thought of that, i guess that would be a huge liability if someone squeezed 11 rounds in one. Joe4d
played that game when I first started shooting, like my second or third match, (IDPA) I had a Browning Hipower. The 10 round was extremely tight int he Mecgars, So tight a "tac reload" was impossible. So I always started 9 + 1. and loaded my mags to 9, on a 10 round stage I went to slide lock and an SO had a hissy fit. So not being around the block long enough to tell him to bugger off, next stage I started with 10 + 1, drew fired one shot and the mag fell out. I was not happy. Afterwards I noticed the owners manual on the gun said "Capacity 10 rounds (including one in the chamber). Just carried the owners manual around after that until I got a couple KRD preban mags. Red Ryder
There seems to be plenty of high cap mags available for all kinds of guns all over the internet. Pull out the credit card, blow the dust off, sip some tea, and purchase. No panic at the disco!
