Sarge
I happened to pass through the break room at work just in time to hear one guy explaining that he had a "depressor" on his 22 rifle. Another guy says "you mean a Suppressor". First guy says they are not called suppressors in the US because suppressors are illegal. JimmyZip
Or an impressor. It's so quiet you say, "I'm impressed!"
warpspeed
I'd tell him I can't have one because of an oppressor.
whistlepig
Sarge, They aren't illegal. Just gotta do your paperwork and cough up the $200 for the tax stamp. I guess that some states or municipalities may have their own rules. Do you have a state law against them there?

jhgtyre
I've owned a gun or two, the CIA FAL clone comes to mind, that were "depressors" for sure. Thankfully the depression goes away when the gun does. -ld

Biloxi23
That guys sounds exactly like a guy that used to post on the "Line of Duty" site a few years ago. He went by the name "Eric the Mall cop." But then again, you run into these guys everywhere.
