jarozzy
I thought i would share my poor farmers target stand. It is made from a old fence posts that i had on hand when i took down an old fence. One 6 ft post would make one stand, i ended up making 6 of them. The square tubing is from scrap that i had laying around. It took about 20 min per stand, so grand total was $.50 per stand. Post where free as they where junk, square tubing was free as they were scrap, i built these after work so my time was free, otherwise i would have been sitting on my couch. The only real cost was the welding material and it is hard to get the exact amount so i am guessing $.50, it did not take much to weld them. sirveyr
Sweet idea. There are a few hundred thousand of those all along the US-23 right-of-way here in Michigan. I think I'll go buy a fence post puller...
Greg Bell
Just do it next time you are out on a job, you will look official and no one would think a thing. LOL
jarozzy
You can go to any farmer and ask if they have any old post you could buy. You could probably get them for under 5 bucks per post.

RussellM
Nice work. I made some out of wood a few years ago but they are just to bulky to carry around. I need to make some steel folding ones.

Heck, he might even let you pull them for that price! Depending on the post, they are less than $5 new. 6' T post

Flexmoney
Speaking of "poor man's target stands"... They are framing up a new house down the street. Scrap 2x4's (any piece over 18in) turn into target stands nicely.
bigfish
Thanks for the idea, I have a ton of old post around here, just have to wait for the snow to melt so I can find them back. Or wait for the ground to thaw and I can go pull some newwer ones
jmorris
There is an election comming up, free stands. Might wait until after the election before you ask for one.
TreblePlink
Similar to the cheapest ones I've ever seen (elegant design) - which were made from cut rebar for the "H" and 3 inch high pieces of rectangular steel tubing welded on for the verticals.
