  1. Wednesday - Dry fire and ammo loading. 30 minutes of very slow draws and a whole bunch of reloads. Wrist position is much better. Ammo - POS RCBS Powder system won't throw a consistent charge for nothin. Oh, it's consistent. Consistenly throwing more and more powder over time. At least the Dillon system, clunky as it is, never varied on me over time. Range day today.
  2. Sorry to hear that work is so brutal.
  3. Even if that's an exaggeration, it makes the point that it was not a cheap product for him to develop. Unfortunately for him, he developed a $375 product that's barely worth $5 in marginal value to the average shooter.
  4. All funny, but that last one....
  5. Monday - Dry Fire. Really slow draws working on cementing a proper grip. Then a bunch of reloads Tuesday - Range day. Movement and how to free up the body while maintaining a solid grip. 400 rounds, most of it at 10 or so yards moving across the targets. Felt good once the movement freed up and the arms had the proper amount of bend for me. Draws were pretty doggone solid, especially considering the movement. 1.1's at 12ish yards mostly in the .9's at 5 yards (only 3 C's from all the 5 yard runs makes me a happy camper.) 15 minutes of working on reloads.
  6. I you wish to discuss pricing, perhaps we can have you open up a new thread with that as the topic. I'm sure you'd get plenty of feedback from those of us with economics and financial backgrounds.
  7. I definitely have a backup gun and have used it. I shoot Open so I think that's more of an issue than it would be for the other divisions. Both guns are identical make/model/etc and both (now) run. It was a mistake to let one of them accumulate 20k rounds more than the other though, as the "new" gun requires a one lb heavier spring. Subtle, but different. Takes the stress out of even a "little" problem.
  8. Steel Challenge match Saturday. I'd never even seen the stages before and nobody that had done this many times before was shooting 172 PF ammo. Fun sport. Still no results posted so I have no idea how I did relative to anyone else, but I surely know for myself how I did. I went home happy and knowing that I have an even greater understanding of what it really means to call your shots. Now I just need to do it! Local match today. Worked from 4am to 8am then went for breakfast and then shot the match. Not a single reload required today, but the match surely reinforced that I need to not only be calling my shots, but getting back to looking for an exact spot on the target to shoot at. For some reason (probably just trying to shoot too fast) I've gone back to looking at the entire target, not just the center of the exact spot I want to hit. I can pick that single spot and I can relax the core for freer movements.
  9. A dragon slayer that's afraid of flames? You may be distracted by flames if you shoot a lot indoors or in dark houses like PASA, etc. If all of your matches are outdoors, even the VV powders aren't all that bad. After hearing from those here, make sure that your gunsmith knows it's an issue you're concerned about.
  10. Definitely cool, but be careful in those locales that frown on open carry
  11. Congrats to Roger. Hope we get to see you at the range again soon.
  12. 400 rounds at the plate rack. Still working on the new draw. Then a few runs through the plates. Back to the draw. Then a bunch of reloads thrown in for good measure. Treadmill too.
  13. I prefer the Sidewinder from Shooters Connection. It is long enough that I can shape it to my heart's content. I only had to lose a piece of my thumb once! Slide Racker
  14. OK Back in town. As soon as I get done cataloging and rating the photos (all 1800 of them!) I'll post a few. Quick update on last 3 days of training.... Monday. Exercise and dry fire. Focus on draw and reloads Tuesday. Range day. Worked accuracy, draws, shooting while moving. Exercise too. Wednesday. Exercise and dry fire. Draw only.
  15. Off to Kauai, so no gun. But, the plans involve lot's of hiking and walking. So, it will be interesting to see if the conditioning level improves or not!
  16. I dropped the powder checker and have never looked back. Looking at the powder in each case is easy and a part of my process.
  17. Millenium Custom is a dealer on these forums. He has videos there on disassembly/assembly. Best guess though is that you have a Recoilmaster and "need" their special green plastic tool.
  18. Hit the treadmill hard again tonight. Pretty good dry fire session earlier. Still trying to get the draw (with no thumbrest) down clean. 1 second is pretty easy in dry fire. By the time I've got this cleaned up, I expect to be right there in live fire too. Worked a bunch of reloads as well. Still need to clean these up, but fewer and fewer botched ones in the mix. Overall, pretty good.
  19. Anything less than 2% isn't even posted. This can be seen at uspsa.org|Additional Content|Classification Administration
  20. Anything that low would not even show up on your list.
  21. Way to go. Now, on to A you go!
