  1. Exactly. I see nothing in the rule book about amount of steel that must be availibe. If the steel is treated as an "A", then 25% must be availibe. Under the mentality of SOL, what would prevent a setup of two static steel no shoots with a 1" gap and a steel shoot behind. An absurd example, but in my scenario this is precisely the end result - moving or not. I read through 8 pages of Enos search results on this subject and really cannot find a answer of "don't do this - per x.x.x". Seems an area of lacking in the RB, or I am missing something. Now paper no-shoots are a complete different issue and it seems folks have a good grasp of this.
  2. Question. I have a Texas star with a steel no-shoot in front at the bottom. Shooter engages star and cleans 4 plates and the fifth one stops with only about 1/8 of the target availibe behind the steel no-shoot. Is the shooter just SOL ? Thanks!
  3. I think the OP means pulling the new mag out of the pouch. To let it come out naturally and match the angle of the magwell to where the new mag in weak hand meets the magwell. ??? I was taught to pull the gun in a bit towards the chest and look the mag into the gun. Now I see the trend to leave the gun out as much as possible to return to engaging targets ASAP. Personally, if wasted movement is eliminated, its fast and feels good, then G2G.
  4. Keep in mind that a lot of browsers use "safe browsing data" from Google. My guess is Google is at the root of the problem. For fun, those technically inclined, block all access to google.com in your router filter. You will be amazed at what breaks and what gets faster. The amount of data Google is collecting and managing is mind boggling.
  5. I waiting for the next video. Kind of like the one from the dude in TX and his leg? Just Saying.
  6. ^This. Split Systems like Mr. Slim with inverter based technology are the bomb. I guess since Sarge is in Ohio, he will be looking for some fossil fuel muscle?
  7. Think about it, the lesson you just learned is priceless. Anybody that has been doing this anytime has a similar story. Like me calling Dillon 15+ years ago about 357 cases being torn on a SQD. Uh, forgot to put the locator button back in the press. Yes, and this was after measuring, testing, checking the bore of the tool-head. I was convinced the tool-head was warped. Now that's dumb.
  8. This is great. Glock users have been stuck with somewhat overpriced factory mags for too long. Glad that companies are now responding to the needs of buyers. Over priced factory mag?? Commonly bought for < $20 Have you bought a 2011 or 1911 9mm mag lately of any quality? I think the Glock OEM mags are a deal.
  9. "the powder bar doesn't come out enough to drop the powder. If I pull it by hand, while the case is up in station 2, then it will drop, but otherwise I get nothing." I think this is a mechanical issue. Are you putting any flare on the case mouth? The reason I ask, is it possible the brass is not going up far enough into the powder die to fully activate the bar. 2.x grains of Titegroup is a pretty small charge to, so it leaves little margin for error.
  10. At first I did not like the idea at all. The issues with starting positions, squads delayed and gun handling all piled up in my head. Jeez, a headache I do not need right now. Now my opinion has changed, why not, let the bugs get worked out and measure the outcome from real world experience. I have opened it up for our July match. We will embrace and give it a fair and balanced run. If it winds up being a CF or the best thing since sliced bread, lets let it cultivate and see what happens. Only thing I am sticking too, if it slows the matches down significantly for <5% of competitors in PCC, then I really have to question.
  11. In essence, if I read this correctly, SHO = ~freestyle, less requiring SH to articulate trigger (don't know why you would do different?). Pretty simple, nothing to see here. ???
  12. I have both. I won a TTI ext base for Glock and that was good on TTI for it I bought 4 more. I now use TTI for my Glock's. I Really like the Dawson's too. Too me, the TTI feel a little smaller??? I have 13 Dawson's for my Para's and they have been awesome. So to chime along with fishsticks, you can't go wrong with either.
  13. May have been asked before; If you are allowed to shoot multiple guns in the same match, would that not be a competitive advantage? I would run my suck class first to get an under the timer look, then my "real" banger for the second. I think this could be asked without bringing PCC into question. Yes, I think the level of animosity would increase when three folks show up and occupy 6 slots if you will. And, how much pasting and helping will someone be doing while managing two guns? I am slowly now OK with PCC running as just another pistol in a match. For now, Low ready and we will address any gimmick starts for PCC in the WSB. Now just too convince the BoD the M1 Carbine is a Pistol Caliber Carbine (has been chamber in at least two pistols) - That way I don't have to buy no junk. :-)
  14. I can follow your logic, but not yielding six pack yet. I would like to see it complete for $800. My guess is it is Romeo "Ready". The only listing I have seen that had the Romeo sight included was this one from some company on the interwebz. Or it could be, Cabela's has a special deal with Sig? Suggested Retail: $1,260.00 Your Price: $985.99 A retailer local to SC commonly runs "deal" of the day that are well below my personal dealers cost. Recently ran Glock 43's for $350. Now, they may only have 5 in stock.....
  15. OK, Six Pack??? If I lose I will send via Amazon. My rationalization is the Sig Red Dot is > $300 per Sig's website. I also put the model number in the interwebz search and found zero with the red dot included.
  16. I would hazard a bet the Sig Red Dot is NOT included in the price. It is not mentioned in the Cabela's ad, only the night sights.
  17. I can only comment on the Lightning Strike. I have about a dozen of them and really like them. I use them with my G34's in Production. They are actually very easy to remove with an allen key/glock tool and the stock floor plate retainer. I also use one on my G23 "house" gun, just gives it a better feel. I also use the Taran Tactical Extended base-pads on my glock limited setups and they work really well too.
  18. I was told 20+ years ago that I needed to pin my safety on some guns I was building. Never did, never been a problem. I think it depends on the person, so we are both lucky!
  19. I stick to Gen3, BUT only because I have a box-o-parts of Gen1-3 stuff. If I was starting out cold turkey a Gen4 would not scare me off.
  20. I have worked on many Glocks and all functioned properly then and now. I am sure this is the case for you. I have a fleet of Glocks from the 26 to the 35. I work on mine, but not to the extreme some do and mine run just fine. My point was folks should check. Out of the 5 above the owners had no clue. These kits varied from basic spring/connector pack to a >$180 "super duper" all guts module. Again, folks need to check and you sound like you have a good handle on your guns. But as I stated 5 different owners had no idea of the issue until I pointed it out. Hypothetical situation; Since the articulated trigger safety does not engage the frame as it should it could create a situation where a shooter is re-holstering hot during shooting strings and maybe the shirt tail in gets the trigger guard just enough to touch off a round. Not Good.
  21. Just making a comment from my observations lately. I do not want to get into a technical debate on this connector, that spring, ect. This is what I have observed and I only became curious after I saw this the first time. Now I am asking and looking. I hope others will do the same. I was playing with a friend's G34 that just had a "kit" installed from 3rd party manufacture. Super nice trigger feel. Then I noticed if I cycle the slide, pull trigger, cycle the slide again (just like in real operation) and slowly release the trigger, the trigger safety did not reset. Boom. both my friend and I could repeat this every time. Another Glock a few days later I tested with a different 3rd party kit. Same thing. Now this kit had some miles on it. So he cleaned and told me it was fixed. Brought it over and after cycling and playing with it many times the issue returned. Now the kit is being replaced by manufacture. I have now put my hands on 5 different Glocks in the past month or so with various kit's doing the same thing. Some new kits, some used and some very used. Anyway, I know there are a ton of factors involved. Spring rate, connector, worn parts and striker types just to name a few. But I thought I would share this in the thread so it may encourage you to check your Glock trigger job. Then Check it again as a routine.
  22. I think Hornady or Speer would be greatly served by offering a Reloading Book and a CE Chrono for ~ $120. Sarge is right on this one %100. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/852429/competition-electronics-prochrono-digital-chronograph or your preferred supplier. Do it now. You know you want too.
  23. 1st get a good loading manual if not two. Lyman, Speer, Sierra or Hornady (and others). I find Speer is just a good read in general. You will find a few themes. Lighter bullets take more powder - sometimes. Heavy bullets Less - sometimes. Jacketed bullets more powder - Lead bullets less powder. So, is this Voodoo? No, get a few manuals as stated above and get informed. The interwebs are great, but I just gave you advice on the interwebs and who the heck am I? The folks at Speer and Sierra have a bit of an edge on the what I know. Then ask yourself, not spending a few hours, $$ on some manuals is worth damaging your gun, yourself or something else? Your question indicates you need more concrete information. Good reloading and be safe, Rt
  24. Appendix D5 #9 40 S&W is limited to 8 rounds if scored major. The advantage of 40 is some use the same load for their limited setup. So in SS you can shoot 40 S&W with 8 rounds as major, just like a 45 ACP.
