  1. That looks like a lot of fun ! What a great way to end a head to head rifle shoot off.
  2. I have 1 range within 30 miles. 3 ranges withing 1 1/2 hours and 3 ranges within 3 hours. If I want to I can pretty much shoot every weekend year round.
  3. Welcome, this is a great place to learn. I resisted at first, but eventually with the high cost of factory ammo you will probably want to get into reloading. It won't save you any money but it will enable you to shoot more for the same amount of money.
  4. I have been an RO all of two weeks, so I would like Ed and Harry at stage 6 for helping the new guy. It was great fun and I learned a lot. I am definelty going to try and work more major matches. I found it very intereting to watch 150+ shooters develop there plans and shoot the same stage. For me, the high light of the match was watching the junior shooters shoot the stage. They did a great job of battling the shopping cart. Matt, thanks for all of your work in putting together such a great match.
  5. When shooting it should not be a "Double Tap" but two aimed shots - That eliminates the "A" "Mike" problem. It is important to shoot "A"'s work on your fundamentals they apply to each shot. There is tons of info on them in this site. Try doing "Bill Drills" 6 shots in rapid successions. Start at 10 yards. Really focus on watching your front sight lift and them move back into the notch. As you get better move the target farther out.
  6. I will be interested in how closely it replicates the actual glock trigger pull !
  7. I have one also from doing lot of dry firing.
  8. Update: When you send in your form you need to include a W-9 for the IRS. Uncle Sam always get's his dues.
  9. I have a CR Speed and DAA belts. I use both (I usually shoot 2 guns at local matches) The outer belts are similar but I like the DAA inner belt because it is thinner and fits most pant loops.
  10. I admire people who live a simple existance off the land and are self - reliant.
  11. Eligible Ohio veterans who served in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan or Iraq Wars may recieve a $100 bonus for each month served up to $1,000. This bonus is similar to a bonus given to WW1, WW2 and Vietnam Vet's. You can go to the Dept of Ohio Veteran Services to get more info and fill out the application.

    Real 1911s

real 1911's have a 5" barrel all others are hacks.
  13. I use a Dillon 550 bought from Brian. On his web site he gives a great explination on which Dillon. Also when you purchase the press give him a call he does a great job of walking you through the process. He even helped me when I had some questions about the intial set up. I now reload 4 pistol and 2 rifle cartidges. It is a simple work horse that will last a life time.
  14. That is great - you are very luck to start so early not wait until 40 something.
  15. I just took the RO class - it was a great learning experience. As this is a volunteer sport, I recommend everyone who is a regular shooter become an RO.
  16. Thanks for the input - I just sent my revolver in to get "Carmonized" - Can't wait to get it back.

    Glock 34 or 35

You can convert a Glock 35 to 9mm with a special lone wolf barre. It is not legal for production but would probably work for local matches. Also you can get a .22 conversion for some cheap practice. 3 guns 1 caliber.
  18. It is not usually the thief in the night you need to worry about but the guy who walks through you door during broad day light.
  19. I use a .22 conversion and it can't be beat for cheap practice.
  20. Welcome - This forum is a great place to learn. For me it was amazing on how shooting a match once a month turned into every match every weekend which turned into planning vactions to include shooting major matches or other locations.
  21. I use montana gold 147 CMJ - they work well for me. They are soft shooting with 3.4 grains of titegroup and are a 135 pf.
  22. I ordered some hearing protection from them without a problem. They shipped fast if I remember correctly ?
  23. I just picked up a used 625 -4, It has an SDM fiber optic sight, CCW cylander release button and stock grips. It has a decent trigger. It also came with a 5 post Northern Mountain Moon clip holder, Bladetech DOH holster and 100 moon clips. I made some dummy rounds and have been trying strong and weak hand reloads. I would like to get the cylander champered - is it worth the money to get the whole carmonize treatment ?
  24. We have several junior shooters and a few female shooter who regularly shoot 22's at our USPSA matches as well as Steel Challenge Matches. They are new to the sport and don't feel comfortable shooting larger caliber hand guns yet. It is the general opinion that if they have the interest we won't turn them away from a local match. The worst thing that could happen is they have fun !
