  1. I've had them SHRED in less than 100 rounds before. I don't like them. Can't sling shot slide from slide lock. It doesn't come back far enough to lower the slide stop. I would use the aluminum ones over the plastic ones. I would use the guide rods with the built in buffer over both aluminum and plastic. That is if you HAVE to use something. Some swear by them, I swear NOT to use them.
  2. Would LOVE to see some stills of Max Michel from Bali.... I can't seem to find stills of him though. Want to see his blaster.
  3. Hence the "I'm not a Lawyer" tag in my first post. Things I suggest are things I do, your results may vary. If you can find a link to a federal law prohibiting movie theater carry, please post.
  4. Can you find a link to the federal reg that lists PO's specifically? I'm not trying to be arguementative, but it's always been a grey area for anyone I've asked. As for your Trooper...man. What a douche! Handled it excellently I must say. Fake badges are easy to come by. Right after he made his thread you could have proceeded differently (Badge number mother ****Er!, make threats to me you piece of ISH...). Sorry, that just rubs me the wrong way. I love cops. But I hate A'holes.
  5. One note on GA rules though, you must use a carrying devise designed to carry a pistol. No gangsta carry in the waistband! I just read that a month ago. If you carry in a pocket, you have to use a pocket holster. KY is very good. If a mall is a public gathering place, so are movie theaters, restaurants, gas stations etc. I'm not a lawyer but I would carry in the mall unless there were signs posted preventing it and your state makes you abide by those signs. In KY a "NO CCW" is sign is merely a suggestion to be ignored unless it is a place on the list (court house, school, bar etc). For example, in Louisville, they banned CCW in some inner city parks. Nope, got overturned. No city, district, area etc can impose more stringent bans than the state has set forth. KY also passed a law that forbids employers restricting guns in employees cars. They can't do it, can't search your car. Carry loaded gun in glove box, totally legal, no permit required, no employer can restrict that (EXCEPT federal land like Ft. Cambel).
  6. I'll have to look into the Federal regs, but as far as state is concerned KY is awesome. A "can't carry guns in here" sign is merely a suggestion. Ignore it unless it has a KRS##### attached to it. ToysRThem has huge signs banning guns on their property. I ignore them too. If I'm "made", they can ask me to leave and that's it. I completely agree with your reasons to leave your bank. Now, about the Post Office. From what I've read (a year ago), there is a difference between the front (Public) and the back (government). Carrying in the front, good. Carrying in the back, bad. There are NO signs on the front of my PO that restrict CCW's. I would ask the PO staff, but considering they don't know their own rules on SHIPPING guns (their JOB), I don't expect them to know the laws on carrying within the PO. The only way carrying inside a KY PO is illegal is if it's a federal law. The PO is not on the KY list of prohibited places to carry.
  7. Mira! No application, No joino. Otherwise you'll be like 2LiveCrew before you even join: Everyone sing now.......Baaaaaaannned in the USA!
  8. I'd love for my second to be a girl. Then again, the hot chick at my bank (we're friendly) said that with boys you only have one penis to worry about. With girls, you have many. Smart girl.
  9. Hell, just look at my avatar. That's cut off of a Tactical frame. Very square at the bottom.
  10. The bottom of the long/wide has a radius that I believe won't leave too much room for the rail I think. They are the same (or very similar) widths but the tactical is more square at the bottom. Could be wrong.
  11. This past year has been about 80% SS for me. I'm just getting back into the Limited game after adding some finishing touches to my Ltd gun. Shot it for the first time in many months and it was weird to count to 20 between reloads. I have so much fun with my 1911. I love the caliber (real SS's are .45), the stage breakdown and reloading every 8 (or less). I just went through it with a nice solvent and oil, swapped main springs (from 17 to 19) and red loctite'd the grip bushings. It needed some lovin! Fomo...Hope to see you at the end of the month!

    Which one?

Peanut. Double ply or single TP?
  13. He wants to help fill primer tubes! He holds the tube and presses down, but I steer the rod from primer to primer. I used to offer to clean my dads guns. Started when I was about 12. That's how I got him to take me shooting, to volunteer to clean them. He's already mentioned (wife heard it too) that he want's to go shootin' with me "when I get a little older". Yep, tear came to my eye. Just like when said I was his "super hero daddy" after watching The Incredibles. That one was awesome.
  14. My 3 y/o helps me fill the 100 count Dillon boxes, he knows they go bullet down. I use that time to teach math.
  15. That's a pretty good idea. If I had to do a quickie "at match" repair or field strip I'd worry about loosing the spring and ball. Perhaps a pin instead of the ball, instead of a detent on the backside of the bushing, a stepped hole with the smaller diameter hole all the way through. Small pin (paper clip) used to push in the pin to unlock the bushing so it could turn. Might be tough to pull off the work on a hardened slide with a 10" drill press though.

    Which one?

    Troll. Live or synthetic bait?
  18. It woudn't take much to make a significant life change. An extra $1k a month. It's enough to do anything I want, but not enough to do nothing.
  19. 50 yards. Just kidding. I can't even tell the A zone that far out... 15 yards. The indoor place I go to has shitty lighting and I can't see well enough at 20 to hold a consistant POA. This isn't meant to replace current methods of accurizing or building pistols. However, if you have a bull barrel built by a monkey (or just worn a little loose) this may be a quick fix to regain some accuracy. My 6" was the latter, just a tad loose after doing all the work to it after the initial fitting. Now I want to see how long one o-ring lasts.
  20. I lop the tops off of my personal 20LPI jobs. I don't like them sharp either.
  21. The depth of the cut is key. It's never the same. The depth of the cut determines the overall OD, which depends on the ID of the slide. Shot it last night. Best group was with 180gr Zero JHP, using a foam block on a table for a make shift rest. .572" CTC for 5 shots. The group looks like a .45 hole and a .40 hole next to it. Freestyle best was .925" or 5 shots, standing shooting 170gr LSWC's. No point of impact shift so at least I know I didn't screw something up. Now if I could only post a pic of the target... Got it: Top two groups were LSWC (obviously). 1.060" on the left, .840" on the right. Bottom groups were 180 JHP. .975" on the left, .572" on the right. The solo group below the pistol was standing freestyle. .925" I aim at the 6 O'clock of the squares. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't.
  22. Something to consider. What about an extended type of slide stop, but trip the extended part off. I use this on my SS gun. It gives a nice ledge on both top and bottom. Otherwise, it should be fairly straight forward to merely checker the underside of you current one.
  23. Someone in my neighborhood has a nice display. Boots, cross, helmet and of course the flag. My wife told me about it, think I will take a walk when I get home.
  24. The o-ring doesn't sit that far back on the barrel. I hope to shoot it tonight or tomorrow. I already know the o-ring will last a while as I've done this on my carry gun (IDPA gun) but I want to see if the POI has shifted. I fit this one a little tighter than the carry gun so I'm using a little bolt gun grease on the oring. The gun was still plenty accurate before, so if the o-ring ever goes south during a stage or match it won't effect it much. I will put more rounds through my limited gun than my carry gun so this is a sort of a T&E excersise. Sometimes I have a hard time calling it "done". I like to tinker. I was thinking about turning the bull barrel down to a bushing barrel, then using an EGW Melted style busing . Lop the bottom off that would normally keep the spring plug in (won't work on my 6 inch) and come up with another method of keeping the bushing in place (besides a super tight fit). With a machine shop this would be easy. Coming up with something that I can do with hand tools and a drill press is a little trickier.
