  1. Consistancy is the key to a good placement at matches. Those that push to win stages, generally don't win matches. Those that have a good steady reliable stage, each & every stage perform very well. Aim to win your grade, not the match.
  2. 1.1"oal. pretty standard for CZ!'s
  3. Tanfoglio 5" & 6" guns are making a mark locally with Action Match & target shooters.
  4. Fortunately for me here in Australia, the 6" slide is readily available. Henning may be able to import one from our distributor here, as I understand that they are in contact re. Henning's parts?
  5. Same, fixed rear sight. Yeah, I've seen others use the sight as a slide racker. Cheers, Ando.
  6. Ok, I shot a CZ Tactical Sport 40, converted to 357sig. That's how we roll in Australia (unfortunately). The gun was box stock with exception of caliber conversion. It's increadably accurate & handles major with ease. I ran a heavy recoil spring to save the frame being smashed. Things I did not like about the gun. It's massive & would need to be trimmed to fit an average hand. Safetys are too low. Slide is narrower than the frame (feels like 75B slide mounted on a bigger TS frame) & required grip tape behind the front sight to give a positive gripping point for racking Tanfoglio Limited Custom is a better fit for me, however converting to 357sig is currently a PITA & not worth the effort. The Tanfoglio addresses all the issues I have with the TS. Unfortunately, the TS is addictive.
  7. Same, Advantage Arms. Ultra reliable & accurate.
  8. Need some advice. Am looking at building a PPC/WA 1500 semi-auto on Tanfoglio frame. As I already have 5" Limited Custom in 38 super, my idea is to have a 6" slide fitted with an Aristocrat adjustable rear & matching front sight & mated to swap onto my existing frame. Has anyone had this done? Advice? Photo's? Cheers, Ando.
  9. 1.1" OAL is pretty standard. 125gr conical, 135gr & 145gr roundnose all work fine. Have shot @ 100,000+ through 3 CZ's combined, no worries. Cheers, Ando.
  10. For interests sake, what if you were a RH shooter, with dual holsters (L&R as above) & at Practical 10m/yds, you have the gun in holster on LHS (weak hand side), draw & shoot with weak hand. Instead of drawing with strong hand, transfer to weak hand & shooting? Cheers, Ando.
  11. Stu, sorry for the slow reply. Here is a link to a couple of photo's of my gun in PD form. It now has Henning smooth silver aluminium grips with grip tape & Tanfoglio magwell, Henninh FO front sight. All other componants are same as photo. You will notice that the Australian issue Stock II Limited, is a DA/SA HC Limited Custom (minus the scope mount holes in the frame). http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77332 Cheers, Ando.
  12. Nice work, now here is a link to much more info & Tanfoglio products. Njoy. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=159
  13. I use a ghost holster for my CZ75 SP01, with & without .22 kadet conversion. No worries. I have used CR Speed holster also, but it requires the cup platform, for use with both calibers without holster adjustment. Unfortunately, not kydex & not USPSA PD legal. I shoot IPSC, so no issue here. Cheers, Ando.
  14. Stock II 9mm is an excellent gun, slightly larger in the hand than a CZ 75. I have both & shoot the Tanfoglio slightly better. Stock II is basically a DA/SA limited/standard gun. Bull barrel, adjustable sights, full length steel guide rod, expensive. Possibly not what was intended for IPSC/USPSA Production Division, when the rules were written, but it made the list. I put a magwell on mine & shoot standard/limited minor. Cheers, Ando.

    OAL in sp-01/shadow

Next time somebody says 1.100" ask them whether that OAL is for JHP or some other bullet profile. Basically you want a length where the bullet is just a little bit away from the rifling in the barrel. 1.1" OAL is correct & a standard response. As above, this does depend on projectile shape & manufacturer. Cheers, Ando.
  16. Thanks Chuck, for the info. Congratulations on your placing. Do we really think anyone will shoot 1920 points with a Production Gun based on current rules, including factory barrel? As previously mentioned, revolver may be the hot ticket. Will still be great fun trying. So basically, most shooters are using revolvers in DAO & striker fired semi-auto's. Most not prepared to accept @ 7lb.+ DA fist pull, followed by @ 3.5lb. SA pulls. Cheers, Ando.
  17. So what are the top 10 Production Shooters using?
  18. I reload without transfering hands, keeping the gun in my strong hand & loading with the weak. After doing the reload,as my weak hand comes back on the grip, my thumb closes the cylinder rolling up from underneath. Cheers, Ando.
  19. BTW, I'm shooting 686+ 5" half barrel underlug (I think they were called stocking filler special @ 2005). 7 shot converted to a 6 shooter. I'm keeping the hammer stock, having the Hi-Vis front sight replaced with partridge & wiegand rear sight blade to replace v-notch. Very RETO looking, IMO. Kydex holster, safariland pouches, safariland comp III loaders. Cheers, Ando.
  20. Photo's? Pink dick-dack's optional.
  21. Stock II & CZ's are basically DA Standard guns. Have shot both, aswell as M&P, Glock & XD. Stock II would be my first pick. Cheers, Ando.
  22. Take a look here, there is an amazing photo on page 3 of a CZ SP01 Shadow open gun built by Angus Hobdell. http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=19966.0 Cheers, Ando.
  23. Ruger 22/45 MKII or MKIII. Don't like the look or feel of the standard Ruger .22 Cheers, Ando.
  24. Match frame is similar in size to CZ 75B frame. Witness/Limited/Stock frame is similar in size to CZ Tactical Sport frame. Basically the Match is a smaller frame with a rounded trigger guard. Witness/Limited/Stock frame is larger with squared trigger guard. Witness/Limited/Stock has 2 frame sizes. My Limited & Stock II are both 38 super guns with large frames. I have shot a Stock II 9mm & this gun was slightly smaller in length & grip circumference. For comparison, a CZ 75 aluminium grip will fit the 9mm Stock II gun. It will go on a Limited 38super, but there will be a gap between the grip & frame. Swapping slide & frame between the 2 Tanfoglio frame sizes guns will give another indication on size comparison. Mo, can I ask you to consider posting photo's of the above combinations for visual conformation? Cheers, Ando.
