  1. I have been using a shop-vac for years. Primers, powder, casings, dust and cat hair. It's probably the inert cat hair that has kept me from blowing myself into oblivian!
  2. No incision in the arm, everything done in the chest cavity, the surgeon said he must have hit a nerve.
  3. yup, I am doing pretty well, with the exception of the "noise" I make. My primary physician sez he can hear the valve clicking clear across the room! Looks like my stealth days are over!
  4. Ok, so I had open heart surgery two weeks ago, replaced the mitral valve and now my ring and little finger on my strong hand are numb. I have a pretty decent range of motion on both of them, it's just that they are VERY tingly.(is that a word?) The surgeon said he must have nicked a nerve and it should come back to normal in not too long. My question is: have any of you experenced this? How long did it take to get feeling back? I am squeezing a tennis ball and have one of those spring grip things but so far nothing is working. Seems to me that I am going to have to relearn my grip on the gun and use the weak hand for more support than normal. Thanks for the replys!
  5. First big match, Mile High Showdown2000, first C limited, I really sucked, everybody else just sucked worse!
  6. QUOTE have a serious mental problem! Alot of us must be afflicted with this "problem"
  7. I have a .38 super and .40, this works: Brownells part no: 555-203-000, best $5.95 you will ever spend!
  8. Merlin, Thanks a bunch, your advice worked!
  9. thanks, Merlin, I will go to battle.
  10. I have a new (2months)old 1050 that has loaded about 5k rounds of super. Now it has decided to not push the primer slider all the way forward to drop a primer for placement in the case. I have taken it apart and do not see an adjustment to make that happen. Any words of wisdom? TIA
  11. "One of Cincinnati's finest." Well, one of Cincinnati's anyway. Got to love it!
  12. Thanks for the lesson, Pat! I appreciate it!
  13. Thanks Henning, I own both a Limited and Gold Elite Tanfo and now can feel comfortable in the dis-assembly and assembly of the frame. Guys, he's right, wear some glasses when you work on these, those little trigger and sear springs become missles! Thanks again Henning! abs
  14. I have owned the Pro1000 first, then the loadmaster. The loadmaster is worth the extra money BUT all the lee presses are a pain. Last year I upgraded to a Hornady LNL progressive and it has made life much easier. The most I could get from the lee presses was 200-300 per hour because of the constant fiddling required. I have hundreds of rounds that need to be pulled apart also from my days with the lee presses. Give some consideration to the Hornady LNL progressive, its a little more than the Lee but a lot less aggrivation plus you can later add the case feeder and other goodies as money permits. The Lees worked, but I would never recommend them to anyone. Sorry about that slip of the finger! I have two Loadmasters, an XL 650 and a Super 1050. Save yourself ALOT of aggrivation and just get a Dillon SDB. For just a little more $ you can save your sanity! abs
  15. abs might do well to compare his config against the chart on that page, and see what fits.... Yup, mine is the top of the chart lots of holes...guess I'll keep chaseing and using the 3n38. Thanks to all that took the time to reply! abs
  16. I have an IMM open (about 5years old, second barrel and comp, Tribrid bbl-3ports, 3 ex-chambers) and am getting tired of the search for 3n38. I am down to my last 30 1bs or so of sp-2 , which I really like, but you know the story. What are you guys running in your guns like mine? SV sez to only use 3n38 and 124 MG or Hornady bullets. Thanks for your input, I'll kick back and wait, I have lots of down time these days!
  17. From the looks of the box on the gun on Gun Broker, it's not only an older model, but a 10mm.
  18. Mag well $15-20 ( it's aluminm and cheap) To replace a magwell it's $150.00.
  19. I have recently been diagnosed with a bad mitral heart valve. The doc's say that there is no choice but to replace it with a mechanical one. My question is: How long can I reasonably expect to be out of the game (I am 51), just got my A card in open, am I toast now? Will I ever get to a competitive level again? I would love to hear from some of you out there that have been through this! TIA P.S. I have two more weeks of I.V. anti-biotics and then the replacement.
  20. I am sure he has his class III renewal in the mail!
  21. I think we need to ALL be honest with ourselves, we do this not for the $ savings but the love of the game!
