  1. I have several DK basic kits in my 6 Glocks..... You can do most of the other stuff yourself. IF your adventurous there is plenty of info on this site.... I don't use a lightened striker but do change most of the internal springs to suit my task....... I have ruined a few trigger bars...Have fun... Best buy the armour's thingie that fits in the rear of the slide if you tinker...
  2. I know there is a big difference in the "butt" area... Has anyone modded the Gen 3 to use in the Gen 4 butt? I'm talking small frame only. I want too use a heavy brass magwell such as the Dawson version.. Dawson says they are working on it???....
  3. Kraj, "holds 11 now"... Is this a redesign?... Where are you shaping the follower?... I just ordered a Taylor to try out... Thanks, Mike
  4. Sorry, go to the lone wolf site.... they are there. Uses ISMI spring which may last longer than the Wolff spring as they are different material....
  5. Looks like www.competitionreadysolutions sold by Lone Wolf is the other 170mm extension.... Anyone using one at the present time???..
  6. I see there are 2 manufacturer's of the large 170 mm Glock mag extensions.. Anyone use both or either... Taylor Freelance is one
  7. Dialled her in today...I was given a copy of the "side ways C-More adjustment".... I think it came off the "net"... CCW is used for when shooting high to lower dot down and CCW moves the dot from left to right...My eye picks the dot up quicker I believe, we will see????... I also receive 2 emails from Grab-a-gun, 1 ea. 929 @ $1034 or 64?.....in case your looking?.....
  8. I use "Blue" Loctite.... "Red" needs heat to remove any screw. You might break the little screws when trying to remove them, if you use "Red"
  9. Plenty of room for reloads..... Minor fitting was all that was needed.... Just use care . BMT sends Torx screws which you can over power., it would be easy to bust one off in the revolver if you get ham handed????... Ironic?, I installed the BMT and the same C-More as previously used from the same 929 and bore scoped it .... Dang near dead on with no adjustments. Mike
  10. Got the BMT Sideways mount for my slideride C-More.... Luckly, BMT sent the left hand mount (I ordered the right hand mount). (I thought they might be interference as I load/reload left handed, see previous post on BMT). . I had the Allchin low slideride C-More on the gun previously and the "dot" always seemed on the "high" side after a holster draw. As Gregg K pointed out, there shouldn't be any problems loading left handed at all. The pictures should show that there is plenty of clearance. Also shown is my 2011 SV gun with the sideways mount (WAY old, second slide and 3rd barrel). On a draw, my eye is finding the "dot" much quicker. Actual shooting will tell the truth?... A word of caution, The BMT mount required a bit of fitting on my 929....Your's may be fine?... DON'T force ithe bottom of the mount into the S&W top rail slot, you will surly break a screw .... And I had to file the very rear of the mount on a 45% angle as it hit the rear of the frame and would not let the screws (3) line up with the holes in the top of the frame..... Also make sure the bottom of the mount sits in the top recess of the frame (took a slight amount of stoning on the sides for a flush fit... Nothing major)
  11. Are you case gauging your ammo?.... ( Even if you are, you can get the .38 Special "U" die from either Lee or EGW, a good investment no matter what). I just went through this problem with my 929's..... I had the moon clips EDMed locally and had them made too "tight" for the Federal nickel plated brass I wanted to use....Think of it this way, a .000 here and a .000 there add up. I bought a bunch of RP's moon clips and can use any 9mm brass now. Granted, they are a bit sloppy with some brands of brass BUT are not a problem with the 9mm range brass I use..
  12. So what particular model year of the Browning A5's are we talking about???.... New or older ones?. Any particular year or Manufacturer's considered better?.. FN's etc.
  13. Thanks, Just ordered one... I special ordered the right side mount . Mike
  14. I'm currently using a Allchin low mount on my 929 with a upright Slideride C-More.... Usually after the draw, I've noticed the "dot" is normally high in my vision area. (Maybe the grip angle, as I generally shoot a SV.2011 with a sideway mounted C-More open gun more often than the revolver). Try as I might, I usually find the "dot" on the high side. Another local shooter has the BMT mounted C-More on his 627 . He is not sure of any PERCIVED advantage with the sideway mount. I know, I know, shoot the revolver more often, really not practical say for "3 gun" etc..... "Carmoney" says his next gun will have the sideway BMT mount......OPINIONS, from shooter's that ACTUALLY have the BMT mount are solicited...
  15. longer barrel=closer to the target.....
  16. I ALWAYS switch the Gen 4's to the right side.....(small hands and no chance of breaking the 180 during mag changes)...MY SV 2011 has the Mitchell right side mag release, love it, never been challenged on the 180 rule... (THERE are THOSE that watch for any "rule" infraction, you know).
  17. I've been a participant in the learning curve for the 929's (Have 2 of them) one with a C-More one with fiber sights front and rear. . Previously, I had 2 each 627's which had their own likes and dislikes. I shoot lot's and lot's of 9mm in various pistols, rifles and this was my main reason for the switch from 627's and short Colt ammo. If your NOT a big user of 9mm?, I see no big reason to switch to the 929 platform from the 627 platform unless you just want a new toy???.... To be honest, my ignorance and my insistence of what I thought I needed caused most of my so called 929 "sticky" cylinder issues (That and the "U" die loosening in my Dillon). Too much Clays didn't help either. I had the original moon clips EDM cut and insisted that they be on the "tight" side rather than the loose side for FEDERAL nickel cases, mistake #1. (It's 100% true that there is a big variance in 9mm brass). A little loose is better than a little tight. Of course, the 1st. thing I did was a little interior polishing/spring changes and added one Apex hammer and one lightened stock Mims hammer in the second, Apex firing pins in both. Neither 929 was way bad from the Factory, though the forcing cone in the 1st. one was not filed square (I squared it with the Brownells cutter/facer..... If the S&W 929's were sold for a lot less...... they would be a great buy.... (Dream on).. I've settled on Titegroup powder as it's fairly easy to get compared to Vit. or ????...Bullets, I'm pretty open, I'm experimenting with 124's,147's,160's, FMJ's, plated, coated.ONE very important thing,..... I gauge every round and the best $$$ spent is for the EGW 7 round checker (made with Clymer finish reamers). Trigger's are set to just a tic over 6#'s and Fed. 100 primers are used... I use the AA holster as I have the S&W and Glock insert and it's a 5 minute change when it's Glock time... You can read my beginning posts when I was more ignorant......I'm 74 years old and would be 75 except I was sick for a year.....Mike
  18. While your at it..... (reloading). Save yourself trouble, buy the 9mm LEE "U" die from either Lee or EGW, no matter who's loading machine you use....
  19. Ha!, Look at Jerry M's tube on his Mossberg, 16 shots in the tube.....Slam in a dump barrel and expect trouble, I'd guess....????....
  20. Wonder if this info might help.... Dillon makes a powder bar for small charges.... I've looked at one and it APPEARS all they did was to square the powder drop opening. This is supposed to help with "flake" powder....
  21. Yes, I know, "puts you in open"... Anyone done this???... I see you know who has the Remington version on his Mossberg. No problem with the right side "button"...Seems from what I read/see most stay with 4 or 6 rounds zip tubes , rather than 8....
  22. Having had a v comp, the "comp" It's pretty useless. We are not shooting a high enough power factor load to make it "work"...I've taken them off my 929's.... To small to be effective/useless except as a barrel weight.
  23. My goal, 9mm. I shoot lot's of it. I have 2 x 929's, one w/a red dot & one iron sighted. I shoot 9mm in ICORE, 9mm Glock's, in GSSF, AR15 x 9mm, JR Carbine 9mm, 2011 in 9mm. I had initial problems with the 929's mostly of my own making.... (I had the moon clips EDMed locally and wanted them tight...too tight it turns out.... and somewhere along the line my 9mm LEE "U" die sizer loosened in the Dillon press and I loaded a wad of ammo up. (Still case gauged). Some days the 929's ran just fine , some days I got the "sticky" case business...I can pretty much use the same load in everything, (9mm major for the 2011 would take it's own major power factor load should I do this). I sold both my 627's (was shooting short Colt). No problem with either. Neither 929 was a Factory problem child and the 1st one was reported to be from the initial batch. Yes, we tinker, before even firing it the side plate was off and internals were polished and springs changed, etc.. I use the AA holster and have a Glock insert and a S&W insert (2min. swap).
