  1. This video gave good information on the benefits of a heavier gun:
  2. More advice from a professional shooter:
  3. I'd also recommend the UTG 45 mount for either the RMR or Burris, it put the dot right where I wanted it:
  4. The window on the burris is larger and clearer and what I have mounted on a 45 offset on my open rifle. I could see going with an RMR for duty use for its toughness, but on a competition rifle I think the fastfire is more than adequate. If you're worried about hitting it when dumping the gun, you could use something like Strike Industries REX mount: Also the Burris has a lifetime warranty. You might also want to consider the Vortex Viper or Venom, also with lifetime wararnties.
  5. To be more accurate - I'd say it matches the HS510C on one below it's highest setting (though there is a big jump there). Comparing more closely to the Viper, at its brightest its about two stops below the Viper, but it's a trickier comparison since the dot sizes are different. Still think this is a decent candidate, though.
  6. Just picked one up and was actually impressed - I found the brightness to be pretty good. Just a little bit under my hs510c, and probably comparable to my viper 6 moa if the dot was bigger. As-is, though, I'd want a larger dot. Window-size is nice and big, and glass distortion is comparable to my Viper (which is not much, but not as distortion free as the 510c). What's better than my Viper is that it doesn't flicker on brightness settings lower than the highest. It's footprint is also different from anything else out there. It's about as long as a Romeo 3 Max, but doesn't fit the RTS2 mount.
  7. That'll be personal preference, but given that limited shooters have had guns that weight for a long time, it seems like the sweet spot in recoil management and mobility. That said, Jerry Miculek with an M&P will be better than 99% of shooters with any gun:
  8. Surprised they added holes for the RMR and yet still didn't for their own Romeo 3 optics.
  9. M&P Pros: - With Apex trigger, I think you may be able to get an even better trigger than the P320 - Adjustable backstraps - More optics supports like the Burris Fastfire / Vortex Viper footprint. The CORE plates are quite thin, I wouldn't be concerned about the height they raise the RDS. Also, the plates have nubs that help support the optic - though on the 2.0 they're plastic. Looks like if you attach straight to the p320 you're depending entirely on the screws. Cons: - Weight: The Legion has a huge weight advantage. Even with tungsten guide rod and brass baseplates, the M&P is at least 10 oz lighter - Modularity: Being able to change the grip modules of the P320 is nice That said, the X5 Legion is hugely more popular than the M&P for competition right now. You're going to see a lot more aftermarket support and fellow shooters than the M&P. I like my M&P but if I was going for a new gun now I would probably go with the X5 Legion.
  10. Brownells just featured it on their youtube channel:
  11. How does the 22lr Ruger Precision Rifle compare to the other larger caliber versions?
  12. I suppose m-lok also works for polymer, whereas threaded holes would not.
  13. Right, but question still stands from original post - why use JHPs over RN for PCC? Don't think it gets hot enough to burn through the base and RN is much more reliable for PCC.
  14. Front & rear tritium sights. Also comes with goodies like the knife and challenge coin.
  15. I have a NFA lower that started as an 80 so I could do my own custom engraving on it. Been working great.
  16. Did you keep the weight in the BCG? Did you try a 308 vs 223 carbine buffer spring?
  17. Maybe it doesn't matter with rimfire, but I feel like the armor plates should be angled down to send splatter to the ground. In the end of that video, how are they calling hits? I don't see or hear any reaction on the target.
  18. Any reason to go for one or the other? Ruger Precision Rimfire: Ruger American Rimfire Long-range Target:
  19. Any reason you're using JHP over RN? A lot of PCCs have issues with them so I'm not sure what the benefit is.
  20. So with Prairie Storm I'll aim for the bottom target to insure more shot hits it to spin it in one go.
  21. A lot has already been said about m-lok vs keymod, and it seems like m-lok has won the battle. But what was wrong with just using screws and threaded holes? My older Midwest industries handguard had them and seemed to work well enough to attach picatinny rails. Sure, there'd need to be a standard spacing and thread pitch though.
  22. Found these here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/QERAH3XE8/hat-mount-gopro-hero-5-6-7
  23. The red is shifted towards blue/cyan, though I don't have a green dot to compare with. Recently in one of his Instagram videos Max Leograndis was saying he can't recommend holosuns anymore because of recent QA issues.
