  1. You can try... Before you do, try doing couple of burpees with a holstered pistol
  2. Make sure that one of your screws is holding the mount, and not bottoming out in the frame. You'll spot a blind hole for one of the mounts
  3. They work great after you swap out mags, hammer, sear, disconnector, all the springs, and the mag catch
  4. You're in for a ride... Cast frame, decent slide, cone comp, potmetal small parts, and loose fit. Metal grip is nice, moulds for the plastic ones are clapped out, so mags fall out. SPS mags are OK for 38, s#!thouse for 9MM.
  5. No spacers needed in Atlas mags.
  6. 170s. I'm too dumb for different length mags
  7. 170s. I'm too dumb to keep track of different mags
  8. I used Atlas for 9mm without any issues, with various projectile profiles. Anecdotal evidence in my part of the world has MBX as flawless in 38SC and occasionally needing minor tweaks for 9mm.
  9. Pro tip. Atlas tubes for 9mm, and MBX for 38.
  10. 7lb recoil spring?? This isn't 2011 land dude. At best you'll eat slide stop pins, and at worst the barrel recoil lug itself. There's a reason why they come with 14lb from factory.
  11. Roughly this: Prep brass. work out OAL for the barrel/projectile combo. load N sets of 10 rounds in .2 grain increments shoot said rounds from rest, over chrono, for groups (yes I'm lazy) pick the best group that makes PF pick recoil spring for said load ??? profit
  12. Atlas mags are the tits for 9x19. Did you notice that they stamp 9mm on them? Use MBX for for the boomer round.
  13. +1 for brake cleaner. What worked for me; Light synthetic oil. Yes, 0W motor oil works. Yes, it'll come out the back. It's supposed to Cleaning snake through the barrel after every session Bottle brush through the magwell after every session Brake cleaner when it gets super dirty
  14. I feel like this is going to turn into "how to load 9Major" thread soon LOL
  15. In my neck of the woods, they came with 8lb for use with factory ammo in the standard configuration, and 11lb for use with Major ammo and compensator. They were even kind enough to suggest 124gr FMJ bullet, 6.2gr of Winchester AutoComp, and CCI SPP Light springs with Major will eat your slide stop pins more than usual
  16. 124gr RN (either Frontier or Berrys), 7.4gr Vihtavouri 3N37, CCI 500 SPP. Gives 167PF. I shoot IPSC, so good enough. Was using 11lb spring. Having said that, watch the Atlas video and perfect zero and pick your spring weight from there. Never got around to tuning mags. Was stuffing 26 into factory mags.
  17. First thing to do is either mount that slide-ride sideways, or replace it with a micro red dot. I suspect your stovepipes are due to cases hitting the mount and bouncing back into the ejection port. Look for brass marks on the bottom of the mount. FWIW, I used to load 1.100 with plated FPs and 1.150 plated RNs. Always mixed brass. Stock barrel. Stock mags. You'll also find that the heavier stock recoil spring is probably spot on for major too. I used to run mine fairly dry, but it does have to be clean. Think somewhere between a Glock and 1911
  18. I do, yes. Better parts availability, more rounds in the mag, and most importantly, can load longer OAL. Personally, I've had no issues with CZ 170mm mags, but plenty of shooters around here did.
  19. I started on a Czechmate. Moved to 2011 when I broke the recoil lug on the CZ barrel, with the idea that I'll use the Czechmate as backup. Turns out that was a logistical nightmare because. need two complete rigs. need two sets of mags. coming up with ammo that works well in both guns is a PITA
  20. Some of things that people tend to miss about rollsizing 9mm Rounds stack better in 170mm mags, which means more reliable feeding. SD is significantly better Reduces amount of failures when gauging Eliminates need to sort by head stamp (IMHO, YMMV, IANAL, etc etc) So... Don't need it if you use new brass, somebody else processes brass for you, or you don't care about above points
