  1. I am currently going through a divorce. Shooting helps me relax and take my mind off of that bi***. The price of that wedding ring could have bought me alot of relaxation.
  2. I have both the 4" and 5" models in 9mm. I shoot the 5" in Production and it works very well for me.The 5" model I have is running with a 13lb recoil spring in it without any problems. I can't imagine a softer shooting gun than one set up like this.
  3. If you could post a picture of the cuts than I could tell you how they do it.
  4. I am using a DOH and two Bladetech double mag pouches. This combination could be improved with some different mag pouches though.
  5. I run 124gr HPs with 4.3gr of TG. That puts me just over 130 with my 5" XD.
  6. My local range shoots through the winter.Last year by the time I got to the second stage my water bottle was slush. I love shooting in the winter.
  7. SV mags are expensive. Look in the classified section on this site or try the USPSA classifieds.
  8. I just tried the slide dropping test and it passed.
  9. I have had this pistol back to the factory twice already and it continues to have the same problem. The pistol has only had this problem when I am practicing Bill Drills. The smith at S_I told me that there is a "sweet spot" that you can hit while doing fast splits that will cause a hammer follow. Have any of you ever experienced this?
  10. All my brass gets tumbled before I put it through my dies. I put my loaded ammo back through the tumbler just to be sure they look nice and pretty on match day. I try and stay away from those dirty brass people.
  11. There isn't going to be any disadvantage to either caliber. The .40 mags may be a little easier to find. Loves2Shoot mentioned the frame size difference already.
  12. I have been using 4.5grs of TightGroup under a 124gr Berry's plated bullet. My OAL is at 1.110. I just started playing around with 9mm so, this load is going to change soon I'm sure. Especially the OAL.
  13. I have been running a 13lb spring in my Tactical 9mm with no problems at all.
  14. I keep checking uspsa1.org for updates. Does anybody know if the match is going to happen this year? I had a blast there last year and was looking forward to it again.
  15. XD9 Tactical for me. I had Loves2Shoot do my trigger, put on a set of sights and some grip tape. This setup works great for me.
  16. I have been wearing my braces every night. I have a sweet Production gun that has just been sitting in the safe while I shot Limited. I think I'll see how quick I can get my Production scores up to where I'm at in Limited.
  17. I set a goal this year of making B class in Limited class. I made B class and quickly passed 70%. "A" class looked like a real possibility for this year. A little over a week ago I woke up and my hand was numb. I didn't think much of it at first and just assumed that I had slept on my hand. A trip to the doctor confirmed that I do indeed have Carpal Tunnel Syndrom. Now , I have to wear a brace on my hand at night and maybe it might go away. I'm thinking that shooting in production with the lighter recoil of a 9mm might be the way to go for a while until this blows over.
  18. Grind a reverse tip on the drill that you decide to use. Center drill the broken screw then run the drill down into it at a couple hundred rpm in reverse. That should build up enough heat to release the loctite and back the broken screw out for you.
  19. I don't have anything good to say about any of this.
  20. My daughter is 6 years old and just loves to shoot with me. I have her shooting a Browning Buckmark with an ultra dot on it. I am having a heck of a time trying to find anything else she can shoot. She is having a blast doing what she is doing now, so I haven't got to concerned yet.
  21. I use a Champion rear sight on my SV that looks just like that one. I was looking for another Bo-Mar with the "rabbit ear" cuts when I noticed the Champion sights. The Champion sight seems to be a very good quality sight. I have close to 5,000rds with mine with no problems.
  22. I use a 14# in my SV with 175pf loads. I haven't tried anything lighter than that.
  23. +1 on what Bigbadaboom recommended.
  24. Loves2Shoot did the trigger job on my XD9 Service model. My son has a Glock 35 with the Ralph Sotelo(I may not have spelled his last name right) trigger kit in it. The XD trigger is alot nicer in my opinion.
