  1. I got the 4-post North Mountain holder that I wear in the front, then I ordered a single post that I wear behind the holster for my initial load and my "oh crap, everything's gone south on me, I need another moonclip". Steve
  2. Sue, What program did you do that in? Did you draw the 1911 from scratch? That is awesome stuff. PHolsted, I took my husband's single stack out of the safe, grabbed a piece of plain white paper, a pencil and a ruler and laid it out. Then I took that pencil sketch and used it to draw it in Illustrator. Glad you like it. Sue Did you clean it while you had it out?? Steve
  3. Try right clicking on the file and downloading it to your documents then opening it up thats how i had to do it are you shooting at Barts this w/e it is the revo championship and there is a plaque Steve
  4. My wife has been shooting 9mm in my 686 38-super. Accuracy seems to be fine. As far as the freebore jump, I know a lot of guys who are shooting 40s in model 610s without any problem. YMMY Steve

    Revolvers

could they chamfer the charge holes before shipping? "You can't chamfer Ti cylinders!" Again...(looking at the one in the lower left of the photo) I explain that I'm surprised considering I own one that is chamferred. He goes on to explain that this removes the finish (no S^&T!) and that it would make it susceptable to rust (again...NO S^&T!!! ). Totally disgusted I simply tell him just to mail them and I'll figure out the rest. Hey Redmist, The new TI cylinders I have seen come with a very generous chamfer that the factory does before the final coating. Steve
  6. Thanks, Bob and thanks for all your hard work on the match. The best part of the match was winning all that cash from Jeff. Steve

    REVOLVER GRIPS

The Hogue Big Butt grip is nice but it feels a lot like a magwell and some of us get kinda confused during reloads. Now I have to figure out how to get that moonclip out of there. Steve

    Area 8 Match

Yeah it was a fun match to shoot revo in. Lots of reload practice. Got to meet a few other revolver shooters. By the way, I won C class revolver. Does anyone know how the North Mountain Moonclip Holder Contingency Awards work? I'm sure Bob will be right on top of that. All in all a good match for revolver. Wish there were more of us. Steve
  15. Oldest daughter just bought a cottage on Torch Lake (which I affectionately refer to as the Father/Father-in-law cottage) so Sarah, Sue and I will be attending this Saturday's match along with son-in-law Doug and son Travis. Looking forward to the match. Steve ps - it will be Doug and Travis's first match - should be interesting. So many new shooters in the family, I'll have to shoot revolver. All the rest of the competition guns will be loaned out. lol
  16. Well i guess its official now so i better start looking for my round gun and accessories O and load up some moon clips and try to remember how to shoot the round gun i found my smith and wesson hat `so i am half way there Steve
  17. Well I guess we're guilty of getting our daughter her first rifle (a Chipmunk) when she was 3 years old and instructing her in the use and safety of guns her entire life. Sarah has become a 14-year-old B-class open USPSA shooter whose safety and gun handling are as good or better than any adult we have ever shot with. I don't think there's anything wrong with a 3-year-old having a rifle as long as they are instructed in the proper use and safety of it and are supervised by responsible adults. Last Christmas I gave my 3-year-old grandson his own .22 single shot (a Cricket). Now after two range trips with him, he is capable of loading it and hitting a paper plate at 15 yards. I have 3 more grandsons that I fully intend to supply with their first rifle. That being said I do agree that some children at 3 shouldn't be allowed to touch a gun, although the same can be said of many adults that I've met. Steve and Sue
  18. I use a Dillion border shift ammo bag for moonclips it save sifting through looking for full clips havent hade any problems with bent clips Steve
  19. rule 10.5.3 deals with saftey and maintaining control of the gun / so would it be ok to break the 180 as long as the written stage briefing called for it?
  20. i agree but the course of fire begins with load and make ready rule 8.3.1 , and the one meter rule should then apply
  21. does anyone know what rule allows a start position to require you to be more than one meter away from a loaded gun? Rule 10.5.3.2 seems to require a dq for that but i have seen it at several matchs thanks for any response Steve
  22. Sako's gun "bluing"? I was under the impression that Sako preferred the 18th and 19th century finish of "browning". I guess it depends on how fresh the finishing tank is.
  23. I noticed that gun and believe it said "infinity" on the side of the slide - maybe an SV-STI hybrid Sue (using Steve's computer)
