  1. Dry fire practice, work on movement related fitness. Accuracy has been good, but i need to speed the hell up and smooth out my mechanics.
  2. Didnt have a rolex, 25000 Krieghoff, 500k camper, nor 10k golf cart.
  3. Nope. and i mentioned in my post cutting slack for procedural and not safety issues.
  4. This is how you scare people away from the sport. There has to be some sort of leeway with a new shorter on procedural, not safety violations, to help them learn and not make them say this isn't for them. If you scare away newcomers the sport dies over time. I remember when I was stationed at Bragg and started shooting skeet on the MWR site up in Spring Lake and going to NC matches. Aside from one female around my age, I was close to 20 years younger than the next closest competitor. Skeet is a dying sport, and these old timers knew it, so they went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and gave me advice, old Mec Presses, shell bags, etc, and encouragement so that I kept coming back. Not only did I enjhoy myself, but I felt like part of the family and their unsolicited gear donations helped me save a bunch of money. If I had a s#!tty experience at my first or first few matches, I would've stopped attending the local matches who then would've lost 50% of the under 25 crowd.
  5. powder valley had FGMM small pistol or their site was goofy. IT added to the cart but when i went to checkout said it was out of stock. they are out of sport pistol of course.
  6. This ammo shortage has forced me to break out the press and start making ammo. I missed out on some primers today but it seems like the vendors are doing somewhat better with powder inventory. I have a few pounds of old CFE pistol, and Titegroup but that will go quick. Is there a powder thats preferred that work for both that has a decent recoil and isnt as expensive as n320 or n350? I was eyeing up some of the alliant and shooters world powders.
  7. I was issued a 320 xcompact with the romeo at my last job. It wasnt much more of a larger profile than before we got the slide exchange kits.
  8. So that's what Ive been doing wrong. Great video!
  9. If its line with a material that can hold dirt or sand i feel like it might accelerate wear
  10. I know my stash is dwindling so while it isnt affecting me yet, after the state match in October, I will have to limit my participation as I cant even find components.
  11. You'll be restricted to running it in limited, L-10, or open in minor unless you mod it for major. Is that what you want?
  12. This is what i did since I had a few bladetech and comptac holsters already. Working great so far and see no need for a fancier holster yet. I did buy the stainless adjustable screws to tighten/loosen the tension by hand
  13. people hanging around the fault line near one of the targets just inside the 180
  14. look at the mystic x by liberty. I have the Infiniti which is an older all titanium version of the original mystic. it is rated for a ton of calibers so it's not just 9mm liberty is a great small business with innovative edm wire cores. prices are great and they have adapters for shooting on center fire rifles as well as pistols.
  15. I have bad hearing loss in my left ear due to Army service. About 10 years ago I had an audiologist make me custom ear plugs. They stuffed cotton balls down my ear and injected silicon, and then polished it up. These have loosened up over time (maybe shrunk, I dont know) but I would recommend this route. In Iraq, I had a ruptured an ear drum after an rocket hit my house, and then again when I got hit with an IED so one ear is a medium surefire plug and one side is a large surefire plug. this custom route worked out best and blocks out sound better than the sordins or peltor comtacs Ive been issued over the years. I think the set was like 50 bucks so well worth it over the surefire ear pro I was using before. I wear muffs at matches when Im up to shoot to preserve whats left of my hearing in addition these custom plugs from the explosions, MG fire, and other hearing hazards over the year causing damage.
  16. Thanks all. I think the DW SSC is about the top of my range so maybe the best option or the 10mm TRP with a new barrel. I saw Atlas has a nice 40 single stack but for that amount I can buy the SSC, a bunch of mags and an xl750.
  17. Welcome. Where in VA? There are a ton of matches in this state almost every weekend if you are up for a drive.
  18. Im with Repete. I discussed this at length with Ben Rios during the armorer course and he cleared up everything and convinced me that they provide no benefit and make the gun dirtier.
  19. Thanks for the replies. There no academy's in VA unfortunately and none with any in stock near my relatives where I could go in and see if they could ship out of state to an ffl. I guess ill keep my eye on the various for sale forums and see what pops up. Im in no rush. Rich is it as simple as a drop in barrel or would there be breech face issues? What about the 40 magazine in that larger frame? Any issues with the shorter bullet length?
