  1. NICE!!! Congrats A huge accomplishment for a young man.
  2. I am not sure anymore. I did a Google search when I was looking for them and just went to a lot of web sites and looked for the best price. I know a few guys on my department who recently got them from Botach Tactical. Some people like Botach some hate them. I have never had a problem with them and always got what I ordered. Just check around.
  3. I'm on the other side of the fence. I really love my Sordin Surpreme Pro X muffs. Of the many tried through the years, these have been the best for me I wouldn't hesitate to buy a replacement set if the current set (2 years old) gets lost or dies. Bill I agree - the Pro-X are the way to go. They also have a 5-year warranty from MSA if you didn't know. The gel ear pieces are awesome, btw. I agree, I have tried many kinds and after the MSA Sordins I have not had a desire to try others. +1 on the Gel ear pieces, made a great headset even better. ese
  4. It looks like the frame mount is the way to go. Thanks for the information. John
  5. I have an AimPoint micro that is going on a Glock 17 with an SJC comp on a KKM drop-in barrel. It can be frame mounted (SJC mount) or AimPoint has a nice slide mount for this optic. I am looking for those that have experience with both types of mounts to get some feedback on the plus or minuses and other experiences that I might want to consider. Thanks John
  6. I also started with and am still using Glocks. I went with the full dust cover STI, but after a short time I liked the lighter gun feel and took a hacksaw to it. It is also less trying on the joints if you have/had any elbow pain.
  7. I just checked mine, and I have the same tilted screw, but it is the opposite screw from your picture. I will give Dillon a call and try to get another one.
  8. BJ, Congrats. It is people like you that make this country great. Stay strong and stay safe.
  9. Thanks again for all the suggestions. This site never disappoints.
  10. Thanks for all the suggestions. I am going to try a number of them, but I don't want to mess with the gun any more until after Area 7/8. After that I will be able to work on the gun. Thank you for the help.
  11. Not sure if this will help, but here is an article from Brownell's web site. You can also search many other articles on gunsmithing on their site. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=10297/g...b__Trigger_Pull
  12. Is there some part of the grip I can measure. The Channel which the sear spring goes into, the width at the top on the good grip is .581, the other two are .604 and .611. Not sure is those number are within tolerances or if that measurment is the right area to measure.
  13. A couple questions about STI Grips. I have 4 grips. One that came with the gun (Bedell). and 3 others with different texturing and painting. Two of these after a number of dry firing runs will have the hammer stop making contact with the sear. I can move the hammer back and forth without it catching the sear (I think). I take the whole frame apart and put it together and it works again for a short while and then the same thing happens. I use one of the other two grips and nothing seens to happen. The three grips are new and I can't figure out why it is doing this. I have looked for cracks and compared them to each other and I can't see any visible difference. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, John
  14. Another shooter and I are driving up Friday morning, 5 hrs +/-, shooting Friday afternoon, and driving home Friday night. Long day ahead of us.
  15. BladeTech will make one for the Glock 17L/24, just special order it. Mine only took a few weeks, I got the DOH style.
  16. Never really had a dog, but my daughter talked me into one a year ago (It is hers). Keeps me very active.
  17. That's it! I am in also. I'm just tired of making so many adjustments and cleanings. Tonight I had to adjust, clean and then eventually need to pull the bar back to catch another primer. Works for awhile then back to problems within 15 or so reloads. When When When.
  18. Sorry to hear of your loss, condolences from our family. God Bless.
  19. Very nice! Congrats.
  20. Thanks for all the suggestions. It was a cloudy day today again, and I used the white target trick, used same headstamp brass and got the load I was looking for. The 4.6 load got me at around 955 - 960fps at around 172 powerfactor. ES was about 9. I think this will work fine for now until I can try other powders. Thanks again for the help. John
  21. I use a Dillion electronic scale. I will measure the first 15-20 rounds untl it is showing a consistent weight, then I may weigh every 50 or so rounds. Being a new reloader I am trying to be careful. If I change the weight, I will cycle the handle 7-8 times into an empty case to make sure the new setting is getting the right amount of powder before I start my loading and weight checks. I am not sure of the SD as I am at work and do not have them with me right now, but what would be an appropriate SD for Titegroup? As far as the powder charge weight, I would not know if I was at the edge of 4.6 close to going to 4.7 or 4.6 going close to 4.5.
