  1. M&P Pro - stock Tucker Silent Thunder holster C.O.M. mag holders Mostly WWB ammo for matches
  2. Hard to keep it to 5... of all times... here goes The Allman Brothers Band - Fillmore East Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain Beatles - Revolver Metallica - Black Album Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
  3. Yep, great way to go! I get the winter base layer stuff made for cycling as it's not bulky under my regular shooting clothes. Works for me in the Pacific Northwest winters anyway.
  4. I won a set of those back when, yep they're Caspian's. Still have them in the packaging. Look interesting but I've never got around to putting them on anything. Maybe someday...
  5. +1 on the 9 minor. It has been one of the better powders I've tried in my CZ and 124 gr zeros
  6. I've got one in 40 also. I've had no problems what-so-ever in about 700 rounds of various factory ammo, hardball and JHP. Didn't even need a "break in" period to run. My ejector does not contact the rounds in the mag like your photos show. Hope yours has been figured out. I love mine, it is a keeper for sure.
  7. I am not a glock guy but I have shot a few. I got a sigma for a buddy of mine and there is no way that trigger comes close to a glock trigger . +1 As an armorer for about 125 Sigma's I would have to agree. They are as accurate, I have a couple that are jaw dropping accurate, and they hold up about as well as most other duty guns...but that trigger. It's a bit heavy, reset is long, and there is not much that can be done to it. I've even shot a couple Performance Center Sigma's (I don't know why someone would want one but I'm always happy to shoot) and they are only very slighly better in the trigger, smoother more than anything else. I've seen a lot of folks have trouble with their trigger control with 'em. I think that is why you don't see many at matches (I don't think I've ever seen one at a match come to think of it). I think the bottom line is there are way better options out there for a little money. But if it's what ya got, grab it and get in the game.
  8. I think we may be going in circles here but that is part of my point. The CZ's were approved for Production with these different features so safety cannot be the reason to no allow the removal of a FPB. Too many guns cannot/do not have a FPB. I can buy one tomorrow that does not have a FPB option and be ok for Production. The only difference to my current pistol is the Shadow stamp on the slide. In the end I am not saying I am right or wrong with my thinking on this as I do have a dog in the fight. I do think though that to make changes/interpretations like this, this far into the game, is discouraging to me the shooter. To go from getting ready for the season to, uh oh now I am no longer legal, is frustrating to be sure.
  9. My frustration after reading the "Frequently Asked Questions for the Production Division Equipment Rules (Appendix D4)" is that this should have been done waaay sooner or left as is. Now I have to re-tool my equipment that in the end will not change my performance or the pistols, nor delete any "edge" over my competitors. It will only cost me more time and money to get "same as it ever was". If no safeties are to be removed or disabled I am ok with that...S&W calls it a mag safety, to me, nuff said. Redefining something that the manufacturer has defined is problematic to me. Are we making this exception because we don't like this feature or that it comes in different configurations (with and without said safety)? Well so does the CZ SP-01 in regards to the FPB. The only difference is that CZ added a "Shadow" stamp to a particular configuration of the SP-01 platform. S&W, arguably, did not add or remove a stamp (or at least not 100% correctly as I understand) to tell the difference on mag safety installation. The frustrating part to me is that all of the models I am talking about are specifically on the approved list, so what are we trying to fix here? I guess i am not sure. If you are allowing the modification because it comes from the factory in the modified configuration, then be consistant.
  10. So using CZ75 mags in an SP01 is a no-go since the CZ75 mags are shorter, and thus, not "dimensionally the same as the original magazine for that model of gun"? Good thing I procrastinated on that Brownell's order.
  11. +1 I add the CZ rubber base.
  12. Yeah the Blazer brass shoots clean in the 40. I've been through about 20k of the 40 Blazer brass and not a lick of trouble with it.
  13. Gunslick foam bore cleaner and Gun Butter for lube.
  14. Ahh, now I see. The exemption is to allow the gun to stick below the covered ejection on the Yaqui. These certainly don't cover the ejection port. These are like reverse Yaqui slides. Well now I have an excuse to look for a production holster. As a side note though, I've carried guns in the Hellweg holsters, working and concealed carry, all day long for years. Thanks
  15. I'm looking to dabble in Production class this year so started going through some of my old equipment that might fit the need. I came across a couple of old Hellweg 220 series holsters, a paddle and a belt loop version. The tension screw is on the front of the holster instead of the back like most holsters. This Hellweg style does not cover the top of the slide so it will not meet the 1/2" below the ejection port rule. In looking at the rule book I noticed that belt slide "Yaqui" type holsters are exempt from the 1/2" below ejection port rule. Does anyone know if these are considered "Yaqui" type holsters? To me they do but I thought I'd ask here before showing up at a match and learning otherwise. A quick photo of the paddle version.
  16. I have a stock G23 that is a few years old (about 3k thru it, all fmj) and has never seen a bore brush. I don't shoot it a lot but it's one of my most accurate stock guns. When I clean it, I just make sure the chamber's clean and run a patch down the bore. It might just be me, but I swear the bore is shinier than the day I got it.
  17. Just my .02 but the trigger internals and triggers are very, very different on these. The M&P is a much better effort and I think the triggers can be "slicked" up pretty nice.
  18. I have a couple of these holsters that I've used over the years. I think they are very good holsters and should serve you just fine. Nice "retro" touch too. I don't think they are any slower, or faster, than the kydex stuff.

    Cleats?

Depending on what your home "turf" is, those might work pretty good. I found that they don't work for me on gravel surfaces worth a darn. The tread and spike/cleats are not agressive enough to grab any traction in the gravel (my home "turf").

    Cleats?

I just picked up a pair of the Hammers. I like that they have a full length mid-sole so the pressure from the cleats are dispersed over the whole foot, much more comfortable after being on your feet all day. Cleats and pattern are very similar to the Landshark's. That was the one thing I noticed with the Landshark's. By the end of the day (or sooner), I could feel the cleat pressure coming up from the sole.
  21. I just had a Sigma (a duty weapon) with a broken striker and S&W would not sell me a striker and I'm a certified Sigma armorer. They told me I had to send the gun in because the tang on the striker comes in different sizes and they needed to install the right one to make sure the striker would release. Strikers are the only part I cannot buy from S&W. Sounded a little odd to me but I had to wait for the shipping label and then send it in. FWIW, three weeks and still do not have the weapon back. I wonder if the M&P will go the same route. I do seem to recall (is memory the first or second thing to go, I forget) that Glock parts were a little hard to come by when they were first released and then they only sold them to their trained armorers.
  22. +1 Many thanks for a fun match and a job well done by the staff.
  23. Yeah the .40 Glocks do it to me. Something about that round with their trigger safeties makes my trigger finger go numb. It doesn't happen to me with the other caliber Glocks.
  24. I'd go with the M&P. Trigger on the M&P, out of the box, is better imo. Like the ergos a little better on the M&P too. My XD is a 9 so I can't really compare the shooting/recoil stuff between the two.
