  1. I've broken 2 Briley Spherical bushings in about 8k rounds and am wondering if I have something wrong causing the breaks or if it's just the design. The gun is 45 para frame, springfield top. Mostly shooting 200 H&G bullets around a 180 PF with a 18 lb recoil spring w/ 1 shok buff. Spherical ring is .001" bigger than OD of barrel per recommendation. Both breaks were in the same area of the bushing, on the bushing where the ring fits into. Any ideas? I guess I'm mostly curious at this point because I think I'm just going to have a regular bushing fit and be done with it. Barry
  2. I'm thinking about getting one of these pistols also and but am curious about the size of the grip from reading the thread. How does the size compare to the old Springfield P9 or the S_I grips? Not as big as the old Para frames are they? No one has these in my area so I can't get my hands on one. Thanks
  3. Wow! What a cool thread. I stumbled across this and couldn't stop reading it. Took me back to the days when I had just entered the Air Force and got stationed just outside of Phoenix (Luke AFB) for 4 years in the early to mid 80's. I couldn't put the American Handgunner's down and reading this thread with all the names being mentioned brought a smile to my face. I didn't quite realize it at the time but I had easy access to some great stuff in that area. Gunsite not too far away, Earnie Hill Speed Leather (still have mine), and Dillion. And of course the Cactus league (if I remember right) with two of the top dogs living in the same valley. I was young and poor and didn't shoot nearly as much as I would've liked. But, the sport stuck and still enjoy it as much now as I always have. Thanks for the stories all.
  4. Are the J Michael Plaxco videos, maybe in dvd's by now, still available anywhere? Though a little dated, I always find myself reviewing those for the basics. I've also shown them to many newer shooters who seem to easily understand the points he is conveying.
