"I'd wager trigger control is the culprit." Is the 96 trigger that much different? I am very accurate with the 92, USP9F, Sig 226, M23 SOCOM, and a host of others. I have a hard time believing that the Beretta is that much different. Please don't take this as a smart a$$ reply, but please enlighten me. I am ready to learn anything I can here just as I am each day I live in everything I do.
  2. Just got done cleaning all the little guns. Spent 15 minutes sighting in on the people on TV. With the Beretta. Very quick and easy to pick up a perfect "sight alignment/ picture". Wonder how much lighting has to do with it? Still planning to try the 124 grain rounds.
  3. brokengun.com? My son usually tries to take one of the larger caliber guns. He says you never know when you will have to shoot a bear. Gotta love the Grandparents.
  4. "Just to annoy you, I used to hit clay pigeons at 50 yards with mine from a bench, about half the time. " I will have to try that. Occasionally in downton San Diego, my 7 year old son usually hits live pigeons out the truck window with his crossman pistol at about 75 yards and 30mph.
  5. Splashdown – I understand that the 3 dots need to line up. Don’t they call that something like “site alignment” or something? Just kidding. I’m not new to the Beretta line so I would think trigger time should not be an issue with the 16 years of military exposure to the M9. It shouldn’t be that different , huh? Jgilmore16 – We are on the same sheet of music here. I have painted the dots fluorescent. Found out that the sites were easier to pick up than with the paint, but groups, or shall I say, lack of groups is still crazy. Gringo – I have been so disappointed with the performance of this gun I never even thought of it. Too close to the forest to see the trees, I guess. This may be the answer. That is one of two things I have not tried, now that I think about it. WWB 115 FMJ is all I have put through it. I’ll be eating crow for years if this works. Poor Pietro Beretta will so relieved after all of the things I have said about them. What makes this hard is that I had shot countless rounds with the M9. It is only the .40 that I have trouble with. Fella’s I thank you for your suggestions, I’ll keep you posted.
  6. This is the only pistol I can't seem to figure out. I can't group this one at all. By suggestion I used support today at the range at saw improvement, but not satisfatory.
  7. Fiber Optics on a Berretta? Can it be done on a 96fs? This may fix my Berretta problem.
  8. After about 500 rounds at the range my trigger finger feels like I dropped something on it. Never had this happen before, even with many more rounds than this. Anyone else experience this?

Just left the range and it performed well. I used the rail for arm support and it went much better.

Never put it on a rest. I had others that filled the void left by this one in my quick grab bag. Maybe I'll try it.

I'm really considering a new owner for it. I have really lost interest in shooting it. Too much fun shooting my other ones.

The hard part is that I never have anywhere near 8" groups with the others. Looks like I need to sell a Berretta. (This is not a classified ad for the sale of a handgun)
  13. IDPA seems alot more like what I would enjoy and transfer to reality. It also seems like it would be closer to a work environment scenario.

My Berretta is the only pistol I have problems with. I shoot at work and home (local range) regularly. I have no problem with my HK's, Sig, Glock, and Kimber's. Just the .40. All others group excellent out to 25 yards. .40 is all in an 8" group down low to the left.

Anyone else have problems with ONLY .40 ammo? OR Just Berretta .40's?
