  1. The bonus for #2 is "Hey there, the movie is over, go home." or something to that extent. it is after the credits. #5 is from Adaptaion but I watched the movie so long ago I cannot remember any of the details other than it was a film with Nick Cage and Meryl Streep. My guess at #8 is Wayne's World in a conversation between Wayne and Garth. I think the end credit was something by Guns 'n' Roses. My guess at #3 is Seven with whoever played the Killer talking to Brad Pitt. The highest number would have been 6 These quote games are always hard. Someone always takes the numbers that I KNOW before I get to them (2+9).
  2. I dont think I ever log out. My computer is on 24/7 and I never close my Firefox window open with all the sights I frequent. I only sign out of email on purpose. I never know when I am just going to have to get a question answered or search for something here.
  3. Titainium swimsuits can be expensive. They would be my suggestion for all problems that fathers have with their daughters under 30. Also, might I suggest a GPS unit in her cell phone. All conversations with prospective dates should take place in your reloading room. As for the money, look on the bright side, at least she doesnt ride horses competitivly. That stuff cost way more than any shooting sport that I know of. Sorry to hear of the loss of your $99.
  4. Maybe?? Been a long time.... Totally different vibe between the two, though. Buckhead was basically the meat market crowd. More power drinking types, but downtown was a whole nother scene - crack heads, drug dealing types, etc, plus the sprinkle of drunk Tech guys, etc... Oh, and yeah... back to the slammer!!!! There are still crackheads. The place you are thinking of is on North. I think it is called the disco diner now. It looks like an IHOP but it is purple. I used to go to tech and I damn sure used to go there. BTW, I dont think the judge was out of line. The sheriff must do what the judge orders and his order of onl jail time was reasonable. Cali has gotten out of had with stars getting away with murder. Somebody has to send a message. He did the right thing. Besides I am sure the Hilton's property taxes in LA have paid for at least a month in jail so I am not to worried about resources. I am glad to see someone stand up for justice in that city. Three days was not enough, it was her third strike. I am glad to see she got what she deserved. Just goes to show that money cannot always buy you what you want.
  5. I don't see that rule changing anytime in the near future. Having extra weight in the front of the gun is not "tactical" for full sized guns. I think any commander length barrel should be fair game though. Anything less than 4.2 inches and you are ready to roll. As far as bushings go I am going to agree with the above post. They break because of improperly fitted recoil springs. I was a bit paranoid so I when I had my gun made I had the smith install a reverse plug on the bushing gun. There is never any pressure put on the bushing by the spring plug. Although,, take down is slightly more complicated. Give a bushing gun a try again, just make sure the sring is fitted right and yo whould be fine.
  6. Thanks for all the quick replies guys. You really helped me out. I tried a search but I guess the search-fu is not strong with me.
  7. Can anyone give me the weights of the two STI magwells?
  8. Are there any finishes for aluminium part that can withstand the abuse that the magwell can/does recieve? I have one that looks a bit chewed on the inside to say the least and I would like to have it refinished with something that might make it more durable and last longer. Any ideas?
  9. For workouts: All Metal all the time. Many that have been mentioned before and some that have not. Alter Bridge, Audioslave, BLS, Black Sabbath, Boysetsfire, Chevelle, Damageplan, Disturbed, Drop Dead (,) GorgeousFilter, Kilswitch Engage, Marilyn Manson, Megadeath, Metallica, Motorhead, NIN, Ozzy, Pantera, Queens of the Stoneage, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Slayer, Velvet Revolver, White Zombie, Wolfmother, Zakk Wylde. I agree with Jake that the music has to match the work out. Almost all of my workouts are cardio or weights, that I fell the need to be pumped for, I use heavy music. I will take it one step farther. I take my ipod to matches and listen to music before stages (in the muffs and only during prep, wilst not pasting etc.) For long (accuracy) stages I use: Jazz, Blues, or other slow music such as Nora Jones. For medium stages I use: Emo, Indie, Classic Rock, Pop, Folk, or Alternitive. For hoser and or feild stages I use: Metal, Hard Rock, Rap, Punk, or Grunge. Sorry Matt, some of your music is Pop-Metal. I am now concerned about Merlin. I mean, classic polka as workout music?
  10. The STI standard magwells I have seen/used will not fit in the IDPA box I think they do fit in the IPSC standard box though. They are too wide for the lid to close. I cannot remember how much wider they are but it is somewhere in the ballpark of 1/8"-1/4". I also had to trim a little off the heal so it would fit comfortably and allow me to get it out with some speed. I am pretty sure the Krebs plastc well also fits with no mods. The one thing I do not like about the aluminium wells is that once the coating is off they ding up really easily.
  11. New magwell... If you are not too attached to the SV. I got the STI magwell (in Aluminium) and just went nuts with a belt sander until the ODs fit the box (then I took off a little more). I have the Dawson pads as well and they fit fine in the well. The first major match I went to they looked at me funny. When I got to the stage with the box the SO didnt think it would fit. I slid that sucker right in the box and said, "fits like a glove." Then I hosed down the stage (for expert class). I am not sure if the stainless well would put you over weight but if it didnt it would be a sweet setup. If you want to go the STI well route let me know and I can post details on how to sand the thing down. Off to contemplate the stainless well...
  12. I say do it! Well... I only shoot limited minor so I may be biased. They way I do it is to plan my Cs. I have a char that tells me how many Cs I can have to 90% & 95% and I plan accodingly. I just have to know where it is acceptable to get a C. Know your limits. You will have to play conservitively cause the room for error is so much smaller but I see no reason why you cannot win you class shooting minor as long as it isnt GM. I think the trick is knowing how to plan differently btwn limited major and minor. You have to know where to dial back the speed and get the accuracy. But on hoser targets you can open it wide and go crazy. Plus, when you beat someone in your class whist shooting minor they are going to know they were beaten by a superior shooter because minor wins dont happen by luck it is all skill. Show them what you got. Good Luck.
  13. I used some tinting film from wal-mart for awhile. ( I got rid of all the vision blockers recently). It had good results. It blocks your vision enough to keep from seeing the double FS but it is not distracting and you can see though it somewhat so it doesnt throw off your depth perception as much as some of the other solutioins I tried. It is just some tinted static adhesive film. I think I got the tip about it here. It can be taken on and off easily and it doesnt leave a residue on my glasses. Its about $5 a roll at wally world and the roll should last you and 10 of your friends a lifetime. PM me if you want some to try out. Just to add to Flex's last post. If you look on the cover of the book he is referancing BE has some tape on his glasses.
  14. Did it. It was an easy fix with a dremel (OUCH) and a paperclip. Thanks guys.
  15. I live in KC MO so I could never be a Jayhawker. Besides, I would be more of a bushwhacker (grew up in MO). If it is inreferance to school and or states alligance: Bulldog, thank you much. I lived and went to college in Georgia for 6 years thank you much. I think I will move back to GA when I am done with law school. Aiki, What is all this seriousness in the humor forum? Besides what would the north do without a good supply of cotton in those days. You gots ta make clothes somehow. It was a minor rebellion all is well now. As for Texas, someday it will be its own country and then I may move there. Texas, the best armed soon to be country in North America.
  16. Ahem. Might one assume you refer to the War of Northern Aggression? I think you spelled it wrong. It is: Southern Provocation.
  17. You can but they have a reputation of not replying. I would call them if you are all that worried about the issue and then verbally request the ruling in writing or an e-mail. (870) 545-3886
  18. As for the mag catch holes i dont think it really makes a difference. Both my 140s an my 126 feed just fine and they have the mag catch difference. I am not going to claim to be an expert on this topic but I will give you all the insight I can. Almost all of my STI followers stick up like you show in your picture and they work fine. I dont think trimming would cause problems if you do it carfully (start by just rounding edges). (However, I never drop my slide on an empty mag from slidelock). From what I have heard the grams are more likely to cause premature slidelock. I have no expeiriance with this because my grams guts mags were trimmed to not lock back from the start. For this problem I would say maybe do a little trimming and schoot the mags like crazy in practice to see if there are any problems. As for the feed lips, have you checked the deminsions? If the 126s feel tighter then there may be a problem. You can always polish the lips with some fine sandpaper followed by some kind of compound like maas. Some of my mags came a bit tighter than others. I just adjusted the feed lips as per the deminsion reccommendations by STI as found on this site. Hope this helps. If not I know there are many threads on mag tuning and one of them is bound to have an answer.
  19. Premature slidelock seems to be a problem in all 2011 guns and can be fixed. I am too lazy to modify my IDPA mags to work right because I don't shoot that much IDPA anymore. The reason they do this has to do with how the followers work in wide body mags (they sit higher than SS mags) If you do a search for "slide lock" you will find some answers or you can go to the brazos custom (www.brazoscustom.com) site and there is an article there under tips and tricks. There is more information on this site than I can repeat or summarize. I have seen guys with the international pads IDPA that their guns run 100%. My problem was that every once and a while the slide would lock back prematurely with the int'l pad but never with the stock pads. It was weird and I attribute it to the fact that the pads change the angle of the spring in the bottom of the mag. To get the mags to run right all I would have to do is take a file to the range and have some patience (do a little filing on the followers).
  20. It is a complicated explaination on why I want to do it but I just was wondering if it was possible. I have a two piece FLGR and I want a one piece. However, I am extremely cheap and I would like to know if it is possible to just drill a hole in it and have a one piece without affecting reliability. If so, how do I do it? Where does the hole go? What are good ways to clean up the edges of the hole? What is the right hole size?
  21. +1 on comp-tac Great customer service and they have always got my orders to me withen a week. They seem to only be limited by how fast the post office moves. I have one for my limited gun that I use in IDPA and the thing is awsome. I also once lost a tension screw on another holster of theirs. I called them about it and they sent me a bag full of screws and all the parts that go with them in various sizes and in doubles so I would have spares for a match all for free. I would never by a plastic holster from anyone else.
  22. Two different animals. The international basepad is wedge shaped and it does give you +1 but the +1 pad is a traditional shape. International http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDeta...0000-1094593465 +1 http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDeta...0000-1094593465 You can read on dawsons site for more info. But, here is my skinny. If you use a magwell on a 2011 the international pads make it easier to seat. The added capacity makes no real difference in IDPA because you are limited to 10 rds. In MY gun (9mm) the international pads cause my slide to lock back with a round in the mag. So for idpa I either use a standard mag to start (that always locks back the slide correctly) and an international padded one to reload or I just disable the slidelock and rack with every reload.

    Stupid joke on

Two chocolate easter bunnies are sitting on a hilltop. One has a bite out of his table and the other has a bite out of his ears. One say, "man my butt hurts." The other says, "WHAT?" The muffin joke is a classic.
  24. I have an old Colt officers model target that has been giving me light primer strikes as of late and I think the mainspring is the issue because of the age of the gun. Does anyone know where to get a spring for the gun or if I could just use a spring for a python? Thanks
