  1. I received the gun controller at the end of last week and have been trying the thing out. So far it appears to be very realistic. The environment is very good, the physics appear to be correct and I love the fact that it has been designed around USPSA and steel challenge. I can see that if the plan is to use it as a training tool the user will need to be disciplined in using it as a training tool and not get sucked into playing it as a game chasing high scores. I will need more time with the 320 as the controller to see if it will affect my index in real life or not. I see this as very good to bridge the gap between dry fire and live fire. You get scoring feedback and the system is very sensitive to using a poor grip. A poor grip will result in poor hits at speed. It is amazing to train on movement stages. You can very easily experiment with different approaches to run the stage and evaluate the results using time and hit factor to show what way might be best. It also has most of the USPSA moving targets that makes it easy to get lots of practice on swingers and such.
  2. Is anyone using the Ace XR virtual reality to dry fire train? For those using the system what are your thoughts regarding it being a legit training tool or just a game.
  3. Welcome, if you are not already aware, you are very close to Crooked Creek Conservation Club. They hold very good USPSA matches monthly as well as host a level 2 match The Battle for the North Coast. These days you locate and sign up for matches on the website practiscore. https://practiscore.com/ go on the site and create an account. On practiscore you can search for matches, sign up and squad on the site. To search for the Crooked Creek Matches, search for CCPL and you will find their matches. You also have Dynamic Shooting Sports in Deerfield Ohio which is also top notch. Search for DSS to find those matches. Western Pennsylvania has several matches as well. Hope to See you on the range.
  4. The Glock store. www.glockstore.com
  5. You can just replace the trigger spring for $3. The NY trigger spring is either Olive Drab or Orange, remove the NY spring out of the trigger housing and toss it. Install the OEM trigger spring. Make sure you orient the OEM trigger spring in the correct "S configuration" direction when installing. You tube videos will be useful so that you get the spring in the correct direction and install the slide stop correctly as far as the pin and spring orientation is concerned.
  6. Slapping a no shoot target next to a barrel that is not being painted is a bad idea. Now applying penalties for the no shoot target can not be applied correctly. At a local match if the club is not painting the barrels then hard cover on the side of the target nearest the barrel helps keeping the scoring calls more accurate. If it is a level two match all of the barrels next to targets must be painted or the match is going to be in for big problems.
  7. I heard that slow is smooth and smooth is fast when it comes to last round ejections. I heard you should use a hard front sight focus while flipping and catching. I also heard that the flip and catch doesn't work if you have an occluded red dot. I also heard that the flip and catch will get you killed in the streets. I also heard that real men don't need to flip and catch because their 45ACP is already empty.
  8. The inaugural USPSA match at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo (Basically Columbus) Ohio was a great time. They had 8 really fun stages. Having 8 stages at a local match was great. Thanks to the match director Dan Click and Khory Katz for running the stats also thanks to anyone else that helped make the match happen. Anyone in the area should make it a point to add this match to their schedule this summer. See you on the range. Rick Powers
  9. Spinal Flow Yoga is the absolute best advice.
  10. We are all signed up. The DSS crew is ready to have some fun.
  11. Who all is going? I am in squad 105 (Rick Powers). Say hey if you are in our squad or passing by. See you there.
  12. KETO is the best thing that has ever happened to my health. At first in the beginning before becoming fat adaptive you may feel weak and tired. After becoming completely fat adapted my energy levels are way beyond any other time in my life eating the standard American diet. With the combination of KETO and intermitted fasting I can go much longer periods of time with out a crash or running out of energy. An all day match is not a problem and I don't need a bunch of snacks to get me through the day not to mention my mental focus has greatly improved. My memory and total brain function has shown significant improvement. My brain is firing much faster than ever before. I used to have brain fog and trouble pulling my thoughts together. Eating the proper Human diet vs the Standard American diet has eliminated inflammation and swelling in my joints and the rest of my body. I am down to a very healthy weight, I no longer get headaches, my knees don't hurt, my fingers joints no longer hurt, and I have energy for days. I run regularly up to and including Marathons with no issues. An important aspect of the Ketogenic Lifestyle is to make sure to read the labels on everything and don't trust foods labeled as "KETO friendly" without checking it for yourself. The best way to navigate through all the BS is to learn the true meaning of the Ketogenic lifestyle which is not just eating low carbs. So much more is involved related to eliminating the inflammatory foods out of your diet.
  13. Don Bates has got me wanting to come down to shoot with you guys. Don said the range is top notch. See you on the range.
  14. I have enough to cover all matches for next season. The amount of practice I can perform is to be determined. After next season if things don't change I am in trouble.
  15. I hate when I smash a primer due to a crimped primer pocket. Before the shortage it didn't bother me as bad. Now I hate loosing a single primer.
  16. Maybe others have already hated stepped brass but I want to say that I hate stepped brass.
  17. I just use the belt loop clip, works great for me.
  18. I miss read the question. I thought the OP wanted to use one belt and holster for both types of competition.
  19. Many of the recommended choices so far will not work for IDPA. The choices being recommended so far mount to a 2 belt system with an inner and outer belt. IDPA does not allow the inner and outer belt system to be used. In IDPA you need mag pouches and holster that the single belt can feed through the belt loops, holster, and mag pouch. In USPSA it is most common to use the 2 belt inner and outer system because the holster and mag pouches are permanently mounted to the outer belt and are always in the same position. Unfortunately this is not allowed in IDPA at this time.
  20. Give the Pro Ears a look. The user quoted here offers a discount code.
  21. I have 3 different sets of their Gold series muffs. The sound quality and the suppression/recovery speed is the best I have used. Using your code I just ordered the new Stealth Elite in ear hearing protection. These have been delivered today. I can't wait to try them out this coming weekend.
  22. I used the code today. Saved me some money. Pro Ears has fantastic ear pro. Thank you for the code.
  23. I like this set up, stealing this. Thanks for the details about the mounting solution and the camera operation.
  24. Glad to see the bug got you. Where have you been shooting at? Maybe I will bump into you on the range. I am a fellow Northeast Ohio carry optics shooter. I run around Dynamic Shooting Sports (DSS), Crooked Creek (CCPL), North Lawrence, and Briar Rabbit.
  25. Dynamic Shooting Sports (DSS) is very close to Canton and is a an excellent club. Approximately 15-20 miles from Canton. DSS is in Alliance/Deerfield Ohio. They typically have a 6 stages with a classifier. The with stages are great. The club has several very good shooters as well. Helpful Staff DSS has USPSA matches the first Sunday and the fourth Saturday of each month with 2 start times on Sundays. DSS also host multi gun, the American Defense Rifle Series, and every Wednesday night they have an outlaw steel match. https://www.dynamicshootingsports.us/ If you want something a little more low key another decent match in the area is held at the North Lawrence Fish and Game Club in North Lawrence Ohio near Massillon. Approximately 15 minutes from Canton. North Lawrence holds USPSA and Steel Challenge. The Steel Challenge matches are the first Sunday of the month and the USPSA match is the 3rd Saturday of the Month. https://nlfg.org/action-pistol/ From there within 60 miles you also have Crooked Creek Pistol League (CCPL) in Rome Ohio near Geneva, Lawrence County Sportsman Association in New Castle PA, Pardoe Sportsman Association Mercer PA. About 80 miles south you have Briar Rabbit in Zanesville Ohio. In the winter time Canal Fulton Ohio is about 15 minutes from Canton has The Armory Indoor Range that host USPSA matches every other Saturday. The Armory also has Defensive pistol every other Saturday year round.
