  1. I watched this video and thought, Hey, maybe I CAN do this. No small children, so....
  2. I do like the friction feel of the plastic trigger.
  3. I prefer the OEM trigger shape. The little hook on the end gives me a landmark,. It helps me know exactly where my finger is placed on the trigger. Not just that, but I prefer the plastic OEM trigger. I thought I wanted to replace my plastic trigger due to it "flexing". After I adjusted the post-travel, there was no more trigger flex feel when I fired. Since the trigger stops as soon as the pistol fires, I no longer had a tendency to keep pulling and "flex" the trigger. I adjusted the pre-travel as well, and got to like the trigger as is. Plus, the adjustment screws tend to stay put, and not loosen and back out in a plastic trigger. So no need for thread locker. The trigger bar pin is also tighter in the plastic trigger; an interference fit, so to speak. And finally, I am not yet quite ready to completely take my TSO down to the trigger replacement level. I really like this gun and it's too new to risk messing it up, lol. Because as yigal says, other triggers can look better, different colors and all.
  4. I will start conservatively with tape over checkering. Lots of good ideas here. Thanks!
  5. Husker, Your hand checkering is professional grade. I did not even know that was possible How do you do it? -Rob
  6. So just drilling holes in the backstrap offers more grip?
  7. Those laser cuts look awesome. I would really like to have that sabertooth done sometime. It looks both sophisticated and tactical to me. Does it add a nice level of grippiness?
  8. Ok. What type ergo wood grips do you have? I have seen some nice Nill-Griffe wood panels. I do not know if Nill-Griffe makes grips for CZ TS.
  9. Yigal, Do mean put the grip tape also on the grip panels, or just put grip tape on the front and back straps?
  10. Has anyone, frustrated with the ineffective waffle checkering, tried to increase the grippiness? I bought some Talon tape for the front and back straps, but reconsidered. I bought some coarse grit silicon carbide and a two-part epoxy. Now I am wondering if I should Dremel off all, or some of the waffle checkering, or just put the epoxy on top of the original surface. Anyone with this experience?
  11. Are you referring to the $76 kit I see on Amazon, model #5589? They say it's a gunsmith set. I do like the design of the bits.
  12. Do you just use any 2-part epoxy? Does it need to be thinned at all? Just apply with a small brush? I want to use some on my front and backstraps.
  13. Does putting a plate on the slide move the thumb rest out away from the gun to a more natural or comfortable position? Is that what you are saying? First I heard of this.
  14. Toolguy, where do you get the different color FO rods?
  15. What are the arguments for Red vs Green FO front sights? I bought both rods. Am liking the green for now.
  16. Thanks. If you measure I would appreciate knowing. The stock wood grips were not too wide for me, but they were not my favorite. If the Palm Swells are even wider, however, I would be leaning towards the thin bogies.
  17. That's great news. Do the Palm Swells feel about the same width as the stock wood grips? I'm trying to decide which Loks to get.
  18. I would guess the pin is needed. I assume the CZC magwell is a plug and play replacement for the stock magwell. I don't have that model magwell. I don't know why yours is loose. Sorry I'm not much help. Perhaps some videos would show what is wrong...provide an ah-ha moment. My CzechMate magwell is held by a set screw and requires a mod to the main spring plug bottom. There are some threads discussing the CZC safety and also the Shadow 2 wide safety fitting into the TS/TSO models. They may help. They helped me. Minor fitting problems at the sear, detent preventing complete insertion, early engagement, weak engagement, and trimming the shelf are discussed. Maybe others here who have the CZC magwell can chime in.
  19. You probably already solved the problem by now. I also installed a CZC extended safety and a magwell on my TS (my first CZ). I chose a CzechMate magwell, and yes, it needed a modified hammer spring plug, one without the pin on the bottom of the plug, otherwise the magwell would not slide on all the way. The extended safety has been a learning experience. It works fine now; I may change it out again. Said all that to say, I don't understand how your two problems are related, albeit my experience is limited. I found some of the best how-to videos by abyss1232 on YouTube. Also Scarlett Pistol has quite an extensive series: However, these are not TS specific.
  20. I have not seen that one. Which part number are you looking at on CGW?.
  21. More than once I have managed to pull the trigger and drop the hammer while working on my TS with the slide off the frame. I have heard this is not good, but what damage can occur?
