  1. SV hands down. Johnny builds a great gun. SV creates a great gun.
  2. We waited hours to shoot several stages, didn't get to finish on day 2. But that is the nature of major 3 gun matches. this was a very challenging match, tested all 3 gun skills. A fantastic facility in a great part of the state! Great attitude from the RO's, and match staff. The Cadets worked their asses off and I hope everyone donated generously. Big thanks to those who helped in all capacities, it takes an army to do these matches and they need a big hug!
  3. Lesson learned the hard way. Montana Gold or Precision Delta. Hornady if you can afford them.
  4. Warne mount for mounts, good people there. You truly get what you pay for with scopes. I have the Primary Arms 1-6, it's ok, I prefer my Vortex JM 1-6 but that's out of your price range. Get the Strike Eagle for no other reason than the great Warrenty that Vortex has. Try Optics Planet, J.Tischauser here on the forums has a discount code that could help.
  5. My rambling thoughts on aids. I've worn hearing aids for 46 years. I hate them more and more every day. New technology makes them better, but the cost is too high and the noise of everyday life is painful, these digital aids are supposed to block out the loud stuff, drown out background sounds, amplify voice sounds,etc...They don't. Road noise alone will make you pull whats left of your hair out. Wear hearing aids in a walmart or a restaurant and you will never wear them again. I would have to see your audiogram to tell you if you should bother with aids. It's natural to lose some hearing as you age. are they worth the $4,000+ they cost? do I ever sweat? if so, get "in the canal" aids. If "she" says you need hearing aids, you probably don't. while shooting, everyone should be double plugged. Hearing is precious and once it's gone, you really do miss it. That being said, quiet can be a good thing, sometimes.
  6. Both are good, both can be technical, and both have off weekends. Depends on who sets them up. Go to the closest one first.
  7. http://www.ettsgunrange.com/ http://www.triplectacticaltraining.com/ 2nd Saturday USPSA at ETTS 3rd Sunday USPSA at Cresson
  8. Not even close. Some members are very active vocally. That's all we get, a word to the BoD and maybe to the President. Show me in the bylaws where you as a member get a say about the ED or anything at the HQ level. This is not a buy in type of organization. Members have no privileges.
  9. The only say members get is the "vote" for President and BoD members. the rest is out of our hands.
  10. She was an employee who only reported to the President. We as members have no say nor rights to any internal issues. As it should be.
  11. We will never find out here. Of course, it's really none of our business.
  12. Thanks for all the free advice you did give. Probably saved a life or two!
  13. Lee likes "go fast" stages. I design the evil ones......while dangling from a hangman's noose, engage targets before you pass out.
  14. I live in Allen, used to live in Plano. There are no ranges in Collin County that allow drawing from a holster or rapid fire. That being said, there are some IDPA indoor matches that might work in a pinch. look at CCIDPA and CTASA. I shoot at ETTS and Cresson, around these parts, you wanna play, you gonna drive.....
  15. might be something there, good reading! thanks StealthyBlagga
  16. can someone make me a carbine that can take the 2011 Mags? in 40SW
  17. Since we don't all play in the same DIVISION, looking at overalls is a waste of time and false ego stroking. PCC and OP are smart plays to get MORE people into the game and into our clubs, I'm all for anything that grows the sport of Action shooting.
  18. There are a few spots left, If you are on the fence about this match, don't be. great stages, Great food, even greater people working the match. gonna be a good weekend!
  19. If it's anything like the 1911's they have been building, the revolver won't be around long.
