  1. Well, it's good to know it's not just me. Could be a tech issue as of late or some recent server settings. I just came into the topic through the email notification and it did NOT happen this time. It's not a consistent issue for me, which makes it stranger in some ways. Again, not a big deal but I wanted to ask about it.
  2. Just checked from phone and laptop...going there from email link...both times had to sign in again. Could be part of it.
  3. I think it happens when I use an email notification to go to a topic. At least some of the time it is doing that.
  4. My female biz partner will shoot the 9mm I got her and then say hey...hand me your .45! She's not afraid of anything and don't ever tell her she "can't do something". Women can be fiercely awesome.
  5. I have been on the road a lot so that could be contributing. I would think once I login at a new location, it would stay logged in. It's not a big deal...just a minor annoyance.
  6. Not sure why my login details aren't holding even though I've selected the "remember me" function. They will hold for a day or so then I have to sign in again. This happens in both laptop and mobile. It's just a minor thing but it doesn't happen to me on other forums. I'm using Safari and iPhone. Is this happening for others or do I need to adjust a setting? Thanks.
  7. Very interesting topic and encouraging to see people of all different levels digging deeper into themselves for growth. That takes a lot of humility. In my line of work (professional corporate coaching), humility and awareness of yourself is key to personal/professional improvement. Thanks for the transparency and letting others see your progress. It's helpful to me.
  8. Thanks Jcc. Exactly the kind of info I was looking for.
  9. Thanks GJ. How do you like it?
  10. The typical ones like Anderson and Stoeger. For those interested in leadership topics, my favorite is Andy Stanley Leadership podcast on iTunes. Also, if you like history topics, check out Dan Carlin's Hardcore History.
  11. The new Mk IV is excellent and far easier to takedown than previous models. Be aware that there is a big recall on them right now. I need to send mine back to Ruger. Still, they are excellent and a good value.
  12. Excellent. How will you celebrate?
  13. I've been running U2 playlists since going to their concert at Cowboy's Stadium recently. Songs of my youth and all that...although I'm getting a little old to feel comfortable being crushed on the floor by the stage. Give me a seat!
  14. It's awesome to hear about kids getting into shooting. Far too little of that these days. Kudos to you sir. You could get him a Marvel conversion if you have a spare 1911? That would have him working the same controls and manual of arms he will most likely be using later.
  15. Greetings and welcome aboard. I moved from ABQ a couple of years ago. Where do you shoot? Best deal in town was being a member of the Zia club and having a key to the gate. I definitely miss that!
  16. I didn't want to take the other similar topic off track as I'm using different powders. Anyone using BBI 200s with WST, Unique or Bullseye? Those powders have been very versatile for me over the years in other calibers and I've got 32# each. Any fav .40 loads using those components? Thanks.
  17. This topic generates some questions for me but I will start a new topic as it's slightly different. Good info here.
  18. Thanks. I will spend some time with it before making any decisions (since it just came in) but I've been reading this topic and following with interest. It's obvious you have put a lot of thought into your mods.
  19. Thanks for the replies. I found this on Ben's document for setting up classes... For a Practical Shooting Fundamentals class, I cap the class at 12 students. I only accept people who have been in the sport long enough to be classified (unless they get prior approval from me). For a Practical Shooting Skills and Drills class I cap the students at 8. The drills in these classes are more complicated and the round count is higher. Generally, I want all the students in this class to be a solid B class or higher, and to have taken the Practical Shooting Fundamentals class.
  20. Thanks for the clarification on IDPA. What hammer and recoil spring weight did you settle on?
  21. Thanks for the reply. I'm doing all of that with his materials and I'm no stranger to hard work and practice. I won't be taking a class soon. I would anticipate signing up for something in 8-12 months but I'm asking the question now as his classes fill up early.
  22. I've enjoyed reading the various threads on those who have attended Ben's classes. I have all of his printed and DVD materials but would like to take his classes at some point. A little background on me...lifetime shooter but just beginning in USPSA. If you had to pick 1 class with Ben, which would you start with and why? Fundamentals or Skills & Drills? How many of you have repeated his classes, how close together, and what was your experience with that? I'm sure any of his classes would give me plenty of feedback to work on for a long time. Thanks in advance for your replies.
  23. I've been reading every topic I can find on Shadow 2 disco mods. Sounds like there was also an issue on a new gun WITHOUT mods? Did you figure it out? First time I've heard of a Shadow 2 being used in IDPA. I haven't heard of SPD?
  24. I ordered a set (regular palm swell) yesterday and they are already shipped. I'm looking forward to trying them out. This will be my first experience with them.
  25. I've heard good things about CGW's lube. I'm going to get some on my next order.
