Is there a place to get frame weights, a thumb rest/pedal. And a magwell for the g43x? I realize a lot of available parts are not as available since the g43/443x don't have accessory rails. In trying to build a gamer Glock shooting minor on a subcompact platform.

Why not get the ALG 6 second mount and then use that for your open optic mount?

Does anyone machine a g43 slide to fit a DPP? I've talked to some but they seem hesitant to given the width...

In fairness, I'm pretty sure Don has something to do w/ that back order. I casually remarked to him that KKM had now started making ribbed barrels. His response was "Oh yeah. I had 8 of them arrive yesterday." When I had Don source parts for my build his prices were basically about the best I could find online and saved me the trouble of dropshipping to him.

I'm unfamiliar with how a decocker CZ's internals are but what you said sounds plausible. Could you illustrate perhaps what's happening? What might be able to be done is get an aftermarket barrel and then fit it so that it is more tightly locking up. And so has your suppressor started to come loose, then? Did you have issues with a lack of shoulder on the barrel?

Could it be that the suppressor's additional weight is exerting downward pressure on the barrel that is causing this issue? Also, how was mounting the suppressor to the P-01? I'm thinking of a similar setup but it looks like the threaded P-01 barrel has almost no shoulder.

My question about how 'necessary' it was is more driven by the fact that I'm going to start reloading 9 major and don't want to end up with a case head separation. But it also brings up the question of marketability and maybe why there haven't been more attempts at this? Either way, there are some very good OCR packages out there right now which are very fast, but the issue is that they're pretty poor when it comes to reading text that is tilted, skewed, or rotated. Which makes sense. OCR was designed to be highly accurate at reading pages fed through a copymachine-type image scanner which leads to some hardcoded assumptions about axes of text, etc. The way that I'd approach this is through capturing the image of the case head and then running it through a trained neural network. Like Adam mentioned, this is nothing more than fancy pattern recognition. Albeit very powerful. The main challenges I've foreseen, though, is consistent image quality, speed, and training. In regards to image quality, this is probably an OK issue if you presuppose that the brass is cleaned before sorting and if the images are capture in a very high amount of light/magnification to help show important features. For speed, this is a bigger deal. You could probably do this reasonably quickly (I'm saying 2-3 pieces of brass a second) if you ran any image classification off of a laptop. But once you try to bring it to smaller electronics (think Raspberry Pi) then you're running into memory and processor issues. Assuming you could get a neural network on the embedded processor, the speed might degrade significantly. And training is another issue. Robustness of classification comes from a large sample size. I would probably want 100 - 1000 unique images of brass per headstamp. Maybe on the end closer to 100 if you can do sample augmentation by rotating them. And then training a network would be a process of semi trial and error but also be computationally expensive. 2-3 days minimum to 1 week + on a modern laptop, dedicated. These are the ideas off the top of my head. There's probably more complication I'm not considering accurately.

Muncie, I promise I'll get to this. But how much of a necessity is it? I only shoot 9 minor for USPSA so I have no clue. But my 3 gun friends tell me that they have to sort .223 by headstamp, sometimes. And I know the desire for 9 mm brass sorting isn't ubiquitous. By your estimation, how much of an "issue" is efficiently sorting brass by headstamp?

I'm ironically busy with my PhD projects (involving machine learning) and haven't had a chance to. Although I think the greater challenges are in the physical design rather than the computation.

My secondhand experience is that a lot of 9 major jams are because the quality of brass people use for 9 major can be much much worse.

What we should really be doing is interrogating the 2% shooting .40 in open. I'm both intrigued and mystified.

Yeah I was stunned to see it. I told Don to take as much time as he needs and get all the measurements he wants in case he needs them for future customers. I will say this, though. I am a curious and annoying bastard when it comes to getting gun parts just right and L10 was absolutely prompt and professional with answering my questions at odd hours of the night. Also, I think Akai? Was showing on their Instagram that they used one of the new frames to make Chris Tilley's new gun. So I figured that if Akai was willing to put their reputation on the line with L10's work, I'd be good, too. I'll keep you posted.

That's a sweet looking rig. I got lucky with regards to the metal grip and got on a pre-order that L10 machine was having before Christmas. $750 for their new metal grip, wide body frame, magwell, mag catch, MSH and grip safety. Should be shipping to Don next week.

Have those who used this found it helpful primarily for production shooters? Or would open shooters also benefit?

For a carbine wouldn't the weight difference of the shroud be minimal?

I'm thinking of going down this route as well and was wondering if anyone has had a chance to see if the 1-sided is rigid enough or whether I should go w/ the 2-sided mount.

The DPP is very popular since it has a large window and pretty good warranty. So an RX might be the best option.

I'm still learning but I do realize how fatiguing this debate must be to the more experienced crowd.
