  1. He sends the receiver out with a zero MOA base. That SHOULD work for distances in SC. And I've never had any problems with a Venom on OEM receiver. I'm not finding anyone here or on Rimfire Central who has had a similar problem. I'm going to fiddle with the Venom elevation and windage adj. and see if they are off. If they are, that's the problem. zzt who posts here has a setup similar to mine - Briley barrel with Kidd internals - and I'll see if he weighs in on this. (Incidentally the Briley eats miniMags, Win Super X, and Federal bulk without a problem. I'll see what else I have lying around to try.)
  2. For anyone running a RDS on a Kidd receiver. Which scope base do you use for shooting inside 50yds? With a Vortex Venom elevation maxed out, the rifle still shoots too low with the zero MOA scope base.
  3. Same here. If the brass is really dirt, I first tumble it in walnut media. Just a reminder if you are new at this. There is lead in all the media dust so tumble outside and stay upwind.
  4. I put a Johnny G 5.5std connector in my SS. Its an improvement over the rolling break in the stock pistol. No reduction in take up but a definite wall and break. Not a light trigger but it's what I want for EDC. I'll be curious to know what others do to their Shadow Systems Glocks if they use them as game guns. I have an eye on the full size. At about 1K they have everything I would otherwise have to do on my Glocks except an acceptable trigger.
  5. Me too. My lead levels have never been elevated. I don't shoot as much as you but have regularly shot at indoor ranges, some with sub optimal ventilation. I don't wear gloves or masks while reloading but religously wash my hands. Coatings do not (apparently) scrape off my bullets. I do tumble brass outside but never have worn a mask. Might not be a bad idea. Just watch how much dust blows downwind when you tumble outside.
  6. What did they do to it? I have an older 43x. EDC. Haven't had problems but would upgrade anything as needed.
  7. Have fun! I love my 617 and shoot it a lot albeit with a RDS. I shoot it primarily in DA to get good trigger discipline but in single action it routinely holds <2cm groups at 25 feet. And that's with me shooting! It was my first handgun and I'll never get rid of it. Where did you get the stock?
  8. Agree. TK's other upgrades for the Victory are also nice.
  9. Great 22. Grip didn't work for me or I would have kept it. Ate everything and accurate it for its purpose. Have a TX 22 which I'm starting to like.
  10. I've actually been shooting this quite a bit lately. With AR15 22 lr it is "pretty reliable" with one malfunction in 50+ rds.. One trick if you do get one is to load the last round so the bullet nose points above the margin of the magazine. OTW it will nose dive into the feed ramp. If you get one, please report back.
  11. My experience too. I have two of them. They are nice for cheap practice but be prepared to do a lot of "tap-rack-bang". The TacSol is more reliable than the AA but ain't cheap.
  12. If you do a search, you will find thread(s) on the subject. I like mine (it's for carry) although the trigger is too mushy compared to a Gen5. I The Shadows do not take Gen 5 parts. The slide is milled for a low lying optic which is nice. RMR foot print.

Not to hijack this thread but ... I never have to really clean my center fires when using WS. Just wipe them out and re-lube. Rimfires need a bit more care but not much.

Weapon Shield is great stuff. FP10 was the original version but FP10 isn't the same stuff since George (who created it) left. IIRC George started Weapon Shield. According to George it's working even when it looks dry. Very highly recommended for cold weather and hot. And a little goes a long way so their pin point dispenser is worth its inflated price.

I don't know where you live but does it get cold? While liviing in central Wisconsin, my 10/22s and 22 pistols would not run well when it got cold. When it warmed up, they went back to100%. The temp drop would be from + 50 to 40's or less. A poster noted he/she sprays their 10/22 with dry lube. That works better than wet lube when it's cold.
  16. Current build is with a Kidd receiver but I'm thinking of getting one of the Brownell receivers for another 10/22 build. So let us know how it goes. I am also getting the Briley Raptor barrel. There are so many reports of its reliability with all ammo. Gotta like that when you never know what ammo you can get.
  17. SWC are a no-go in stock Glock 45 barrels. Don't know about aftermarket. If you're shooting for fun, shoot anything you want. When I shot some IDPA, I didn't even care which class they put me in. But like others have said, 9mm is a better choice for games and cheaper to reload - 115 gr bullets vs 230, 200, or 180
  18. This. My brother and I run GSG. And if you have a feeding problem in a 1911, always, always, always try changing mags. Always.
  19. You mean magazine, right? Did your friend contact Chet? My brother and I both have CWA top ends and they run pretty much flawlessly, occasionally stalling on some ammo but even that is uncommon.
  20. Could you elaborate? I've loaded on Dillon progressives for 20+ years but now find myself wanting to swap calibers on a more regular basis. With Dillons, swapping calibers can take a bit of time and parts. Many will just buy another press if they only reloaded, say, 9 and 45. That's what I did. Now I'm looking at relatively low volume (compared to gamer quantities) 9, 45LC, 38sp, and probably others. LNL sounds like the ticket.

The Axiom is fine for now but I'm gong to end up with one too. I can feel it in my bones. The adjustability makes it worthwhile. I've had to chase my tail and spend too much money and time trying it get stocks with RDS to fit me.

Mine was too. I switched to a Mission First Tactical Minimalist Stock and that made it solid.

Also, as far as I know the Axiom is not designed for irons. If that's not an issue, go for it! Probably won't find a better value. I like mine. Solid as a rock.
