  1. Yeah, my minor load is 5.2gr PP with a 124 rn. 5.0gr is crazy light with a 115. My kind of regular load for a 115 HP was 6.0gr PP, a full grain higher than what you've got going, OP.
  2. Match booklet posted on the Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/spacecitychallenge/ I don't see anything about allowing stage inspection on Thursday.
  3. I bought one of these and installed it last week. It is able to chamber some 124gr loads at 1.13", so it's short throated. 1.12" seems to accommodate everything. I've got some 147gr HP on the way to test with it, but I don't have high hopes for being able to load long.
  4. They all look good to me. Maybe some slight cratering, and infrequent primer flattening.
  5. That's what I did, and those are pretty much my results. My current load is 6.6gr CFE with a 124, and it makes 169pf. Only reason I don't load hotter is because I'm shooting a Glock and don't want to push it too hard. CFE doesn't make a great deal of gas, so keep testing until you see pressure signs, and pay attention to how well the comp is working. You might find that a hotter load performs much better. After all, a little more recoil is okay if your gun is shooting flat.
  6. 210pf. Lol, you were pushing that through a Glock?
  7. I've had four that I've been running since they were released last year. I'm totally on board the Magpul magazine train, they've been absolutely perfect throughout many matches. I start off with my big stick, but any reloads are with the Magpul 21's. I'm excited to try the 27's if they are ever released.
  8. Huh, I didn't realize the Glock basepads fit on the Metalform magazines. Is there any fitting you have to do? That's a very helpful post, and I like your idea to reload with the smaller 20 rounders. I can actually reload those fairly quickly like my handgun, so I may just have a couple of those on my belt bullets forward for classifier reloads. Also, who made your lower, and what particular Taccom magwell do you use?
  9. I've been practicing with my Colt magazine AR9, and I've found that the 32 round magazines are so long that they are hard to guide into the magwell when I try to reload the gun like my handgun. I imagine when I put an extension on there that it's just going to get harder to align properly. I experimented last night with a typical "beer can" grip rifle reload and I seemed to have more success with it, even saving around half a second on my reloads with that method. With a little bit of grip tape on the magazine, I can also reliably seat the magazine. So I guess my question here is: how does everyone perform their reloads? Is there any particular disadvantage to doing a reload as I describe?
  10. If you've never changed any of the springs, it's definitely time for some replacements. New recoil and extractor spring should get you back up and running quickly.
  11. I actually emailed KAK asking if they knew whether it could handle bullets loaded long, and I just got a response back saying that they easily handled 147s (but didn't specify whether they were loaded long or not). Do people actually make barrels that won't chamber a factory 147gr load? So that's not really too helpful, but I'll probably take a gamble on it.
  12. I'm curious about this as well. I'm buying a 9mm barrel before long, and it'd be nice if I can pick up a usable one for $100.
  13. So typically, if you just bought the 13lb ISMI spring and not a "13lb recoil spring assembly," you wouldn't be able to use it. The Gen 4 style dual-spring assemblies usually do not allow you to change the spring weight. You normally have to buy an entirely new assembly with a different published weight to do that. But, from the product description, it looks like Lone Wolf does allow you to change the spring weights on these. So if that's the case, you're right, it should just be a matter of swapping out the larger springs.
  14. Grip? I know on my old M&P that my grip was inadvertently depressing the magazine release.
  15. I was just typing it out, and then sitw nailed it. You'll need a bushing adapter to be able to use a "gen 3" recoil spring set in a gen 4 gun.
  16. It's a running joke with the guys I shoot with, and they won't stop giving me shit for it. They nearly pissed themselves laughing when I got DQ'd because the first thing I said was "Guess I'm going to have to stay C a little while longer."
  17. Stock Glocks can do very well in CO, and highly modified Glocks can do well in Limited. I still haven't seen many people shooting CO in my local clubs though, so I don't know if there's a consensus on what guns are best yet. I suspect the P320 will come out on top because of its affordability and great trigger. The RX with the Romeo optic seems like an excellent deal.
  18. Heh, I'm only C because I bombed 2/4 of my classifiers. I'm still kicking myself over one where I pulled a mike on an 8 shot course of fire. And I would have shot another one two weeks ago, but I got DQ'd. So maybe I'll eventually make my way up.
  19. Thanks, the club really does a good job of putting some fun stages together.
  20. Exactly this. If I was using a more expensive bullet, I might have different practice/match ammo, but since I'm just running plated 124's, I buy in bulk and it's all used for everything.
  21. I'm not a great shooter, but I shoot mine in Open. They're an excellent gun to start off with and continue to use until the gun is really holding you back, rather than your skill and comfort with running a stage quickly.
  22. I'm using the same RMR bullets and I love them. Like you said, even at major velocities they hold up well. I probably wouldn't run a plated 115 at major velocities, but 124s are good when the plating is thick enough.
  23. I'm with you. I've had one failure to fire in about the same number of rounds. Even with pretty sloppy seating sometimes, in my open Glock they run perfectly.
  24. Yeah, it was pretty surprising. Glock 34 with a threaded barrel, probably 6"? 9x19. These are RMR's hardcore match plated bullets. They recommend keeping them under 1500fps, so I'm within that recommendation anyway.
  25. S&B SPP. I'd considered using some of my CCI magnums or SRPs, but I figured I might as well work it up with what I'd prefer to use.
