That is a good question. Is it simply a capacity issue? Or is it getting the comp to run properly with a .40 open gun?

all I care about is that the dot is low and easy to spot. Also, what size is that dot?

ya I figured it was something like that because I certainly did look for a good bit. Seems like .38 is the way to go. Any thoughts on Optic mounts? Was considering the Henning, and the IPSC Alex. I would take the Xtreme custom over the TSO. The lightened slide and squared off trigger guard are the reason why. The Xtreme parts are better than the factory TSO parts in most cases. Better hammer, safety, trigger for sure. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

I am planning on getting a Gold Team some time in the near future and I am wondering if one caliber or the other (9mm or .38) runs better with the factory comp? Or are there any other reasons one is preferred over the other? Also, please feel free to post pics of any open div Tanfo's.

I am running the fixed rear sight sold by CGW for the cz 97 with a 6.5 mm tall FO front sight. Dawson Precision also sells sights. Measure the rear dovetail width as they do come in two widths. Cajun Gun Works does offer a couple of other options for sights including one that is fully adjustable. I am using cz 75 compact mags with no issues. There are many holster options, the picture I posted before was a used German police 229 holster that I paid 10 bucks for at a gun show. Works very well. There are several different variants in the 120 line up. The S 120. Steel frame, no rail P 120 Steel Frame, rail The T 120 Steel alloy, no rail. The last one is the lighter one. The others are much heavier. The feel is very similar to a CZ or Tanfo. There are plenty of grip options available as well. I really haven't minded the factory grips so I haven't changed them yet. Have you considered a Tristar S 120 or P 120? I have a P 100 that I really like a lot. CGW offers a ton of parts to upgrade the pistol. I polished, replaced sights and springs, and that is it. The Limited Custom is a new pistol for this year. It is similar to a limited elite, it is SAO, it is a bit lighter than the limited elite. The website refers to the coating as steel tancoat, it does have a lightened slide. Does not contain any of the xtreme parts. I have a buddy who has a TSO, it is a great gun! The CGW Bushing and the flat aluminum trigger are the only items he changed. It is a sweet shooter for sure.

I have a CZ TS, a Tanfo Limited Elite, and a Match Xtreme. In my opinion the TS is better out of the box, but the TS and the limited elite both need better grips and sights right away (Dawson FTW). The polymer trigger on the TS is nice but, I found that in matches the polymer tends to feel like it is flexing and moving some (probably just amped up) either way I replaced both triggers. The semi-flat Tanfo trigger much better than the CZC flat trigger. Once those items were replaced on both guns the limited was far better in my opinion. The ergos, checkering, and fit and finish are better on the Tanfo in my opinion. I did end up doing grips, sights, hammer and sear, Magwell on both guns. The TS also has extended LHS, CGW bushing, and everything else i could shove in it and it still wasn't as comfortable to shoot or as fast in transition as the limited elite. I do believe the TS held better groups (with the new bushing), that is why I got the match xtreme (6 inch barrel) In the end both guns will need some upgrades. I think that Tanfo can run better with fewer upgrades (springs and polish) I prefer the end result better with my Tanfo's. Also get ready to drop like 200 bucks getting a stock of extended mags set up. TSO > Limited Elite in my opinion though.

here are some pics. you can see how I set the dry wall anchors. I shortened them so the would fit in place. I had to trim off some material so they were flush with the frame so they don't interfere with magazine seating. I used a child's watercolor paintbrush to apply the JB Weld. The anchors are still easy to remove if you need to remove the Magwell for some reason. After I knew it wasn't moving I went back and blended the Magwell completely to the frame. Even if the Magwell were to move I have a ton of clearance and can probably still reload with no problems. The pictures really don't do the blending justice in my opinion. I will get you some pics tonight but, I did try a metal rivet from a blade tech teklok kit. it had too much movement. I have a pair of dry wall anchors that I use now. I trimmed them down and have them in between the gap in the frame and the Magwell to brace the screw. I mixed up a small bit of the modeling grade JB Weld and painted a tiny amount on to the dry wall anchors to help lock it in place. A single #60 Danco rubber washer was used as a washer at the screw head. It gives you just enough grip to keep the screw from backing out on its own (I used an X-acto knife to trim the excess rubber that squirts out). A bit of blue locktite on the end of the screw too. I have shot 3 matches and about 1k practice rounds with 0 Magwell movement.

It is the Henning. I removed material from the frame of the gun, mostly to ensure smooth reloads. The magwell is mostly just polished except right where it meets the frame. The principal is the same. I am just curious. How often is mag capacity a concern at USPSA matches? I shoot steel challenge and 3 gun mainly so I run a SAO tanfo in 9mm, I have never had a time where capacity has been an issue. I do have a CZ TS in .40 but, I have only shot USPSA with it twice (used it plenty of steel matches though) both matches did not have any stages where the lack of capacity wold have been a deal breaker. I am new to USPSA (it is very different from steel challenge in a lot of ways) so I am sure I could have timed my reloads better anyways. Would a .40 holding only 14 or 15 have an advantage compared to shooting limited minor with higher capacity?

The semi curve is a nice trigger, very comfortable and consistent. If the xtreme flat is as nice I will get that one. I have a couple of SA triggers on some CZ's and they are the flat czc trigger. So whatever one is closest in feel would be best. (will pm ya if I get a new one)
