  1. Do you use Loctite or something similar to secure the comp, silver solder? Or guide rod keep it from coming loose?
  2. That is a great looking classic GrumpyOne. I love seeing those older guns still running.
  3. I use a WSM2 with my Tanfo. I have tried a DAA Alpha X (whatever the newest one is) but, didn't care for the fit as much as my WSM 2. The DAA is a good fit with my limited div pistol I use for steel challenge though.
  4. I would think a WSM 2 by CR speed or a Guga Ribas would work. Both are very adjustable holsters.
  5. The extra weight of the longer frame makes a very big difference when using a V12. I swapped my GT frame with my match xtreme frame. It is night and day different. (9 major) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  6. I didn't see that second pic you had posted. The sight you linked will not fit your slide. Although with a good file anything is possible.
  7. I have an older FIE Tanfoglio that is a small frame. It looks like it has a similar slide (mine also has a comp) it looks like my sight is the same as the one you posted the link from Midway. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  8. I have run a couple of matches with a pair of 170mm base pads now. I removed some material from the back of the base pads to ensure they drop free (during practice I found that would not drop freely from time to time). They have been 100% reliable with factory followers and the springs that come with them. They really look great too! *memphismechanic deserves some credit here I think for calling me out for not owning a Hundo a few months back!*
  9. Posted same pic twice.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  10. Just need a Durso Comp and I will be a happy camper. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  11. Ordered my first 170 mm today. I have a grams kit waiting for it. Very excited to see how it runs. I have never been able to get my MBX to run 100%.
  12. I also run a Unica Hammer. Had the exact same issue with a 15.5 Hammer Spring. I use the Xtreme Medium. Love that hammer. Really cleaned up the action.
  13. I second this. I used to run an extreme trigger. The stock Limited/GT trigger is far superior in my opinion. It has a much tighter fit in my frame. The downside is that the TRS is a huge pain to replace with the factory trigger because it has so much more material where the spring sits. I have bent a couple of springs while changing them out so I also keep extra on hand. I currently run the factory trigger, factory TRS, Patriot Defense Sear Spring, Xtreme Medium Hammer Spring, Patriot Defense FP Spring, PD FP, Unica SA Hammer and Sear. Trigger breaks just under 3 pounds and has far less pre travel and lateral movement in the frame than it did with my xtreme trigger and hammer. Very happy with this set up. The Unica Hammer is really nice. Highly Recommend giving the factory trigger a second look.
  14. This is great news. I have never been able to get my MBX to run 100%.
  15. There is a good number of Tanfo open shooters out there. It is by no means the most optimized open gun out there right out of the box but, it has one of the best price points and is readily available.
  16. That is dang good to know. I love the IPSC Alex Slide Ride Mount. Always looking for options for my DPP though too.
  17. I wanted to throw this out there for anyone who is interested. I have already done one DPP mount l, I have a mill with DRO and will gladly drill and countersink the mount for anyone who gets one, for free. Jus pay the postage. Takes about 5 whole minutes to do. (You must meet the criteria for posting in the classifieds for me to drill your mount. If you don't meet those requirements feel free to go pay a local gunsmith, this is just for regular contributors to this forum) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  18. I got the mount from speedshooters.com https://www.speedshooter.com/category_list.cfm?ID=CZ&CZ/Tanfoglio-Accessories It is listed as j-point mount. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  19. The mount you are looking for is the Arredondo single side mount. You have to get the blank one and drill and countersink the holes yourself. I do not like it as much as my slideride. It is not truly made for a Tanfo and sits much higher off the slide than my IPSC Alex slideride mount. Eventually I will buy another one of those mounts and see if I can machine it some for a better fit. I have seen a mount for sale on a Dutch website but they don't ship to US. 20. I have used most everything on the list of choices. I have a slide ride on my open gun, it is my preferred optic. I have both size DPP's. I do not like the 7.5 as much as the smaller dot. (The 7.5 reticle is just too big and funky) I do like either DPP better than the Burris or Vortex. It is heavier but my DPP's have proven reliable and have a much bigger sight window.
  21. I do think the TSO is far better out of the box than the Tanfo. I also think the TSO doesn't need many upgrades (10x bushing and blended magwell being the most important in my opinion). The Tanfo will take more work to get to the same level as the TSO. With either one you are going to have to spend another 200 + to have enough extended mags, plus a holster and all. Fully upgraded they are pretty equal so it all comes down to feel. I prefer the feel of my Tanfo's over my CZ's so I run a Tanfo.
  22. I am comparing after market magwells. The TSO stock magwell is better than the stock Tanfo.
  23. For me personally the Tanfo Magwell (either the new Xtreme, or Henning) is far better than the TS magwell options. The Tanfo Magwell locks in the support hand much more so than the TS. The TS magwell is there simply to facilitate mag changes, while the Tanfo has a bell shape that improves grip and helps with mag changes. The Tanfo magwells are much more expensive than the TS ones though. (or they were when I got my TS magwell)
  24. @MemphisMechanic I do not argue that a hundo checker of some sort is not a worthwhile thing to own. I am sure that once I do get around to getting one I will be glad that I did.
