Odd question I've been wondering about. Will Dillon pickup tubes and the Dillon RF100 work to fill the primer tube on a Apex 10?
Yes

Sorry to hear you all are having such problems. I went the RL1100 route, and don’t regret it, but that doesn’t mean it was trouble free.
Maybe we are all of the wrong frame of mind to think that after spending so much for the press it should work flawlessly.
Does anyone on this forum know anybody that bought a Mark 7, or RL1050/1100 and took it out of the box and had it run perfectly?
It seems we all go through the “dialing in” or troubleshooting period where we tweak, adjust, or even replace/upgrade some parts before the press is up and running. And even then, when it’s working, as soon as someone mentions a new doohickey we immediately start considering whether or not to add it to our press.
Mine is finally running fine (manually), but I seem to want to replace my shell plate with an aftermarket and I don’t even know why. It never ends.
Hopefully, you guys will get things worked out and Lyman/Mark 7 support will be responsive and helpful. I’m watching this thread because I’m sure there will be a Mark 7 press in my future, just not sure when.
I am exactly in the same boat as you. Cancelled my Apex order and got an 1100 in 9mm. Set it up and added a light kit and better loaded bullet bin support and it’s amazing. Took a couple hours to tweak and tune and now I’m jamming out 9mm Major like there is no tomorrow. A Mark 7 will someday end up on my bench most likely but for now I’m very pleased.

Agreed. My current open IMM build is very reasonably especially compared to other builders.

Damn my builds were nowhere near 7k and would have been at or under 5k if I hadn't opted for the fancy finishes that add 700.
Limited guns?

With the conversation turning to the topic of 9 vs 38SC, has anyone purchased a 9Major built Infinity IMM, and have any feedback on it? I am considering a build now, and while i would not mind going the 38SC route, I have a large supply of components, brass, bullets, powder, etc for 9Major currently and can get 9mm brass at will without issue. I also don't know if the move to 38 would provide any kind of performance or longevity benefit given the quality of the build. Any feedback?
I have one with all the new tech and can attest that 1) they will build them for you and 2) getting one in 9mm should raise zero concern for longevity or performance. It’s simply amazing and extremely nice to shoot. Go ahead and order one now before prices and wait time go up.

Agree to this
I am starting to have some regret as I should have submitted my gunbuilder in April and not waited! They are that good. The one I have currently is the best open gun to date for me in every way.

I just leave the dot on the brightest setting the entire match
Yeah that doesn’t work for me with the way our bays are configured and with the 6 moa dot. Would be nice if it did though!

Unfortunately they do lose their tactile response and clickiness as others have said. I never thought about just leaving a competition dot on all the time but that’s a good idea. Although I find at close to every stage I adjust the brightness up and down depending on sunlight etc. Unless I’m shooting an indoor

Hey, did anyone tried to mount the Alpha 3 dot on CZ custom cut Shadow 2 plate? Will it fit on RTS plate length wise? trying to decide between Alpha 3 and DPP.
@FTP_Shooting_Sports @eerwany input?
Thanks
It’s too long for RTS2 platform. You must direct mill/mount if you want to use it. I had an SP01 done for it and it’s excellent.

What do you think of the sv hybrid barrels?
I like them because the rib goes all the way to the lugs which means even more slide to cut out
I've heard reports of them being inconsistent tho
My new SV has the latest SVP hybrid barrel and it’s awesome.

Does anyone know how the SVP IMM and KKM 5.0" OAL compare? Thanks
The 5” KKM island barrel open guns I had were fast.

Barrel was 173 at the NC sectional match today and the gun loves that PF.

To those running coated Bullets….Do they clog up your comp at all?

Because SV is very very leery of 9 major and 38sc guns last a lot longer would be my guess.
SV takes orders on 9mm IMM all the time. They just prefer talking to the future gun owner first to make sure they understand reloading for 9mm Major. They don’t list it as an option on the gunbuilder but they sure are making them. My buddy just ordered one this week and another buddy is about half way in on his build. They run great too!

Exactly what I was hoping. Thanks guys!

@Nalle2491 Any pics of the finished build? How are you liking it?

I have always found SV AET barrels to be somewhat slower than other barrels. Are the SVP similar or much different?

So 1 gun had an issue at 2k rounds or what is your info?
Local guy here is nearing 10k with no issues on an open gun. I’m only a few hundred on my single stack.
Just some rando guy on FB that mentioned it and another guy on IG. Was most likely a fluke. If adjusted properly and maintained I am sure it will be fine.

only 2k rounds? it would be busted in a month
no way id put something with such low reliability in my open guns
i spend all my time trying to get them to be 100% reliable
Hopefully what I heard was bad info.

I know you made your choice but I just read this thread and wanted to chime in. I have an SV IMM in 9mm and it has the new tech and is wonderful. Flawless so far and such a joy to shoot.
